Toews just happens to be my favourite player. - joshFreeman

I need to make the trip out to Chicago and catch a game at the Mad House. On my sports bucket list.

Hey me too! You're alright man. Feel free to stop by more often, just don't bring your friends - rollpards19
My family got me a Hawks jersey for my birthday
If I were to start a hockey franchise and could choose any player to build around there are two players I'd seriously consider picking over Crosby. Toews and Pietrangelo. |

If I get one then maybe
If Kesler gets moved I'll have to wait until I find a new favourite Canuck |

You're missing the point - no one has any clue if TT will amount to anything more than a 2nd or 3rd line winger. We already know what Kesler is. - CaptainBlackhawk
I guess the big question here is Kessler's health and what it will take to resign him in two years.
I would rather see potential come to fruition, namely see if TT can become that high end second line pivot for Kaner. If he doesn't, to me that's less of a loss than trading a potential star and being reminded everytime we play him that we let him get away. He will of course, also be cheaper to keep than Kessler.
Kessler plus the replacements for Leddy, Oduya, Bickell, Shaw, and whoever else might not be a better alternative since we won a cup with the former.
We saw today how good the Hawks can be against an upstart Columbus team when we park Shaw and Bickell's butt in front of the opposing net as we do in the playoffs.
If this is what we get out of Saad, Shaw and Bickell during the playoffs, and history says it is, we're in good shape. The distractions - the dog days, the olympics, the trade deadline - are all gone. We'll soon see what this team is made of.

Only one S in Kesler bus. If TT is all that and a bags of chips, I think their styles would clash. IMO, Kane would benefit more from a center who works hard down low. One of the reasons Kane and Toews play well together. IMO. Which would leave Hossa playing with TT. And that I think that would be a much better fit. |

I completely understand the worry over Kesler's health especially considering his style of play, but his games played per season since 2007/2008 is 80,82,82,82,77,17,and 64 thus far this year. As for a contract extension, I think on a team like Chicago, poised to win, he could be locked up to a deal similar to his current deal especially playing with a player like Kane.

JJ, the last sentance speaks volumes, 19 & 88 have alot to say at what goes on, it will be interesting to see what goes on at the draft. Piss Kaner off and saddle him with a clubfoot as his center for another season and you just might see some rough waters come spring of 15. if indeed they presented a package minus TT, I am suprised Rocky or John didn't step in and give the OK. I think that is too steep of a price for Kesler at this point. another piece has to be coming back from the canucks.
my hope is quite possibly that this plays out to being one of those " the best trades sometimes are the ones you didn't make". I think TT gets a look and if he shows any kind of chemistry with 88 & ?, he will be the 2nd line center to start the playoffs with Regin on the 3rd line. Zues will be a situational type player. don't ask me who sits, I don't know.
another factor is everyone is quick to write off Bouchard. this guy has enough skating flare and quickness to play with Kane. he's been up until recently a pretty solid player & he's in Rockford right now for 3 reasons, his health, they want him to get some games in to see where the concussion issue is or isn't, respect for Zues as we are strong enough not to kick him to the curb but cover for him for the rest of the season, and lastly his 2.5 mill. salary, no way to fit that under the cap, if the latter wasn't an issue , PMB is here as a spare or possibly playing, not in Rockford.
I could be all wrong but it's JMO, thats all. |

Pittsburgh can not play defense to save their lives. And Shero added forwards yesterday? Especially with all the injuries they have had on their back end? Stan looks better and better every season. |

Maata and Niskanen have to carry that whole d-core. Scuderi and Orpik don't really get the job done anymore. Boston's making the cup final again, or NYR. |

Agree about San Jose, but they never make it to the finals. I think their window is closing. I'm really glad that either San Jose or LA will be knocked out in round 1. It would also be nice if we pass the Blues so either the Avs or Blues out in round 1. I don't see us passing the Blues, thoughi |

Have faith TC. Both the remaining games are at the UC. Hopefully Kane and Sharp find some chemistry, Toews keeps beasting and the goals start coming back, because the d and pk keep getting better and better. |

Yeah it has to be Boston. Rangers are too up and down for me. The east really will benefit from the all-out war in the west. Any of the top-5 are good enough to win it all. Avs aren't there yet. Like I said, I'm glad either LA or San Jose will be out in round 1 |

SJ match up is with LA as it stands now. And most likely will stay that way. They are going to beat each other up. I want to see the Avs D in the playoffs. Something tells me they will wilt. |

I think Anaheim will be #1, san jose #2, and la #3. We will have a real battle with the Blues in round 2. But what about San Jose? LA in round 1 then Anaheim in round 2 or LA with San Jose then Anaheim |

I don't look at like that TC. Remember all last season everyone was worrying about playing the Ducks? The NHL has upsets in the first round. Beat the team in front of you. Worry about the next one after that. |

Yeah the only team I see is Boston. Pens have too many key injuries. Outside of Boston, it is wide open for eastern conference finalist. I hope Bolland comes back healthy and soon. |

I said in June that Rosival was the key to the Cup, since he allowed Q to spell Keith long enough to let him and Seabs have their A game in 23 minutes as opposed to a gassed 29 minutes of action as they did the two previous years. If we sign Kesler, might we be so top-heavy we can only ice 2-3 trustworthy lines?

Still having some residual pain from what I have seen. The Leaf D is terrible. If their D was average, they could make some noise. |
