Hockey Future rates Johns #1 drafted collegiate DMan.
Improved skating, feet much faster, quicker first step so better in transition, best year offensively, most NHL ready,

I am not gonna refute anybody's opiinion of a future hawk, but there were kid sin last years draft I was hoping the hawks would draft and develop like
Ian McCoshen
Steve Santini,
Keaton Thompson
Brett Pearce,
and
Tom Vanelli who decided to go to Medicine Hat instead..
Johns is really thick too which if his feet are truly good enough is gonna bode well for the hawks...he's playing at well over 225 pounds...

That organization is a complete mess, they've fallen fast and hard since 2011. Gillis may very well be one of the worst GMs in the league. |

A little clarification, now that I have a moment to catch my breath:
The source on this was/is a very good one. I will just leave it at that. Someone else I know with a contact close to (some might say within) the Hawks got to me yesterday and said they had heard the exact same thing.
My source warned me: "you will take a lot of sh-- if you go out with this."
And I did. I don't care. Most of it has been from Hawk fans who think, due to having seen some videotape of Teravainen, they discovered him personally and he is the greatest player since Wayne Gretzky. Neither of which are remotely true.
And in at least one case, I do believe the Hawks pr people have some "operatives" out in the "Twitter-verse" whose job it is to derail stories they don't want getting out.
There is a very real possibility that Teravainen in 5 years might not be the player Ryan Kesler is today. Very real. And if you're Patrick Kane, and you've been waiting the last 2 years for a legit center, you're not waiting to see if Teravainen is that guy—or if he ends up as many speculate, another sort of Patrick Kane at RW. In other words, Teravainen coming over and thriving at RW—TAKES AWAY leverage Kane has on his contract next summer.
His pushing for Kesler—which has been NO SECRET for the last 10 days or so, is him USING the leverage he has right now.
Teravainen could end up being a great player. But Ryan Kesler plugged in at 2C for the Hawks is pretty much a guaranteed upgrade right now. And makes them a marginally better team right now. Too bad they couldn't get him for this year's playoffs. He might have been the difference between a 2nd or 3rd round team and a Cup winner. Yes, he's a very good player who fills a couple of huge holes in t this lineup.
All this is just common sense. Anyone debating this as though Teravainen is guaranteed to be Pavel Datsyuk is just ignorant.
The thing that is debatable is can you afford to ship Leddy off and assume David Rundblad, and/or Steve Johns or Klas Dahlbeck fills his shoes in some way. That is debatable. but there are also two sides to that debate. Rundblad is a highly thought of, willed puck rushing defenseman with a lot of good years ahead of him—especially in the Hawks' system.
Bottom line, and if any of you haters are reading this, you are ridiculous. This is not "made up." I am creative, but it would take a genius to make up a scenario like this where so many dots clearly connect. And to get a made up story out to more than one independent source. - John Jaeckel
If that proposed trade happened we would have needed someone to step up and fill the void. We wouldn't have lost just Leddy but Oduya too (to make the necessary cap room).
I'd really like to land Kesler in the off season, but I hope Stan can do it without gutting the team depth, especially on defense. |

Thanks for your opinion on all matters TT. I looked a little deeper and it seems that TT is close to Granlunds' numbers but yet a year younger in doing so.How deep do you expect Jokerit to go into the playoffs? Also why the big discrepancy in playoff dates,is there a bye for top seeds? - eagle50
They have a team that could go all the way but at the same time they could be done soon. You never know what get from them. And yes for the last question. |

I'm not so worried about Bowman trading for Kesler at the draft. Even if Bowman does create a hole or two in the line-up by trading for Kesler, Bowman can find someone in free agency to man the position until the next crop of prospects is ready to step in. |

Ya, you're probably right. It would sting to see Shaw in a Vancouver jersey. I'd get over it about it just wouldn't seem right. He has more heart than the rest of that team combined! |

I agree. I wouldn't mind losing either Oduya or leddy, just not both. Oduya has really settled in nicely with Hammer being a great shutdown pair. I wonder how rozi will be next year being another year older and slower. I think we would be ok with a combo of runblad, johns, and dahlback along with rozi being 5-7. I guess we could always sign a d for #4 spot with Hammer. |

I'd rather see Vancouver take Bickell instead of Shaw. |

I liked what I saw from a few of them at the world juniors, especially santini. I was hoping we would take madison bowey in round 2 instead of dahlstrom. What is your opinion on bowey and dahlstrom? |

Gillis is most certainly culpable for the situation the Canucks are in, but I'm more concerned over how meddlesome the Aquilini's are in personnel decisions. If we have a Jerry Jones or Jimmy Haslam situation it doesn't matter who the GM is. |

I'd say so. When do the playoffs start for Jokerit again? - rollpards19
The Finish playoffs start right after the last game of the season which is on the 15th of March. |

I completely did, and still do, believe it. Dealing with Van can hardly be a walk in the park, and I wouldn't doubt that they spitefully suspended the deal until after the SCF, both to keep us from improving for this years' PO's, and to keep taking offers in the interim. What the (frank), I hates me some Nuck!
