Looks like Bobby Lou won't need Eddie to mop up for him tonight. |

I remember thinking that with iginla and kipper. But then again....neither of those two started to show age with injuries - numbear
They're all you had to trade though, we've got Kesler, Edler, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Higgins etc to retool. You can throw Schneider in there too = 8th overall pick. |

The good thing about that game is we get closer to a higher draft pick. |

I recall that last summer (either after the draft/Luongo fiasco or maybe pre-season) but someone on this board prognosticated that we would not only see Schneider gone but that Luo would also not be around for the whole season. Anyone recall who that was? (although I have a feeling half the board will try and take credit, though ) |

if bieksa hamhuis and higgins make that list then you might as well say Gio, Cammelleri, Hudler. those 3 names beat those names.
Kesler is the bonus and hopefully they use him for assets or build around him and lose the other two.
And prospect wise, you thought the flames were bad in those ranks. Besides Horvat which will be a great piece, they have some work to do.
But no one should be surprised by that, after those good years of being contenders its expected to be weak in the ranks |

Those two will jump start things, the Schneider trade also brought us the 8th overall pick. Last years draft was very good for us, Cassels and Shinkaruk
Edit: Kassian has more goals on 3rd line duty than all but four Flames - he's 22. |

Wow! Nice to see once a player wears something other than the whale you throw them under the bus. Good luck with the new tandem. |

This season is a write off. There are a lot of things that could happen before next season that could turn things around. |

Lu was the best goaltender to ever play in Vancouver, but it was time for him to leave the poop show that is Mike Gillis. I wish him well, he deserves it. |

Yes, actually now that you mention it, I do recall one of the TSN panelists saying something to that affect. Who woulda thunk |

Man, I hate social media. The same people who used to laugh at the Canucks for having Luongo -- remember the jokes? What time is it? It's eight past Luongo -- are now laughing at the Canucks for trading him because he got a shutout tonight.
Just be consistent: either Luongo is a loser or a god. |

Can you imagine if this was the NBA and a star player was treated the way Lou was? you would be inclined to think that they and their agent might not have handled it so well, and umm gone just a teency weency bit more umm 'pro-active' (aka ballistic) :
Exhibit 1 - "... I mean, listen, we're talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, we talking about practice...... we're talking about practice man, we're not even talking about the game... the actual game, when it matters... we're talking about practice'
