Can you imagine if this was the NBA and a star player was treated the way Lou was? you would be inclined to think that they and heir agent might not have gone just a teency weency bit more umm 'pro-active' (aka ballistic) :
Exhibit 1 - "... I mean, listen, we're talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, we talking about practice...... we're talking about practice man, we're not even talking about the game... the actual game, when it matters... we're talking about practice'

You need veteran players to avoid being the Flames and Oilers, see Colorado for example. |

how do the flames not have vet players?
If anything the overachieving they did this year shows they kept the right vets. They should have been dead last, but played hard and won some games.

It's all good. We have Sestito. He can have the captaincy until Horvat is ready. |

They don't have any good young players, except Monahan, that's their problem. |

and yet they're a more enjoyable team to watch.
granlund, gaudreau are better then prospects in the canucks pool. Seiloff, wotherspoon as well looking at your D pool. Ortio/Gillis probably ahead of any other goalie (except for Lack, I was a trade schroeder let lack/lou go with it guy way back)
they aren't pouting on the bench "we aren't perfect, seasons over....next year".

Yeah but they have Stajan so that makes up for a lot of shortcomings. |

For years we needed a third line center and a second line center. Mathias looks like he could fill third line and Horvat can fill second. Trade Kesler for top 6 prospect and pick. Suddenly we re getting closer. |

No I'm at work, dry camp
I meant in reference to Colorado good. The Flames don't have MacKinnon, Landeskog, Duchene and O'Reilly kind of good young players currently in their lineup to supplement the vets |

colorado definitely has a good future ahead of them. and they play hard.
Even with Vets I'm not sold on edmonton pulling it together. Somethings not right there in chemistry |

Actually I like Sestito - at least he gives it every shift, bangs and crashes and seems to take on pretty much anyone (despite being more of a light Heavy-Weight). He also has not bad hands given he's managed to score 5 goals (in very minimal minutes of ice-time and zero pp time). Sadly, though, that is more or the same amount of goals as:
Booth
Burrows
Bieksa,
Hamuis
Edler
Tanev
Dalpe
Schroeder
to name a few. NOT good, no |

Oh I know. Sestito is far from what is killing this team right now.
