speaking on behalf of Islanders fans, we don't blame the situation with kesler for Snow's failure to recoup fair value for Vanek. We blame our ownership for meddling and Snow for allowing it to happen.

Whatever Snow says is a smoke screen to lessen the failure of the Vanek trade.

Seems like there's a lot of that going around these days.

I'm not jumping the bandwagon but there are some glaring problems with this team and I would appreciate if they were sorted out.

ya, very true.

I feel for you guys, very flames previous 5 years similarities.

bad management, bad GM decisions, players not buying into the coaches system, coach not letting skilled players play their game, aging star players aren't producing.

only difference is flames kept their goalie with the 11yr contract to the end.

I was kind hoping they traded keeler and jumpstarted the changes....but hate to say it, I think moving the sedins is the better choice. If someone would take both, they rework of the team would be fast.

Unfortunately, the Sedins are an impossible sale. Which "contender" has $14 mill of cap space for THAT package deal? Even if there was a suitor (team that wanted them/they'd waive for), how would we get a young return on top of the necessary cap exchange? Impossible trade.

Likewise, still on the bandwagon. Just want them to suck for the rest of this year to get a good draft pick to start the rebuild right.

He was the future of our franchise about two years ago. Then he blew his knee out. Go watch film.. how many times has the first shot gone in. He faced 5 in the third period and let one in last night.. he plays WAY too deep in net. He doesn't use his size. I have had these problems with him for the last two years. It will not change. I would take Luongo over Markstrom any day of the week and I'd bet you would too if you were objective. I also bet you'd take Schneider back in a heart beat.

Bandwagon jumpers wouldn't be here discussing how to fix this team and rightthe ship. They would be long gone, cheering for the Pens or whoever else "might" win the cup.

Most of the guys here are Canucks fans through and through, but they also know when there are problems that need addressing.

I personally would appreciate some of the posters here to manage the club, as they seem to have more insight and knowledge of analyzing players, development and value.

Gilles made it clear he wanted a roster player capable of filling some of keslers void. This was reported many times by TSN ESPN etc.

Yet Murrey refused to part with anyone from his roster. His offer being Etem and 2 picks. Yet he was confused as to why the deal wasn't excepted? Is he stupider then Gilles?

Anyone who believes that simple getting a new GM under this ownership will solve a lot of problems is kidding themselves. If/When Aquilini fires Gillis(or he steps down out of frustration), the new GM will definitely only be hired on that condition that Aquilini has the final say on all significant moves and controls the direction of the team.

It would piss me off big time working the phones for a few hours/days trying to get a deal done and then having one in place only to have the owner veto it and make you look like an idiot/ahole to the other GM.

- Nucker101

Why would Gillis quit? If he quits he doesn't get paid.

Good post, your not jumping off the bandwagon for pointing out obvious flaws. The biggest fear is we keep dropping and become a doormat organization resembling what has happened in Toronto and calgary

Ray Ferraro was just throwing Gillis under the bus, said they've got no push from the terrible farm system he's assembled.

And don't be saying he's a dumbass, guy played in the NHL for 20 years, I'd say he knows a thing or two more than most on here.

Of all the NHL experts and insiders, there are really only 2 whose opinions I respect: Bob Mckenzie's and Ray Ferraro's.
