Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Day: March 8 vs. Calgary Flames, Steve Moore Anniv. The Vancouver Canucks hope to rise above the bad memories of their last meeting with Calgary when the Flames visit Rogers Arena once again on Saturday night.

Don't get too excited unless Luongo is close by to mop up the mess.

If we keep free falling like we are, MG's legacy is going to look worse than Mike Keenan's.

Sure, we made it to the SCF under his watch but the optics of our play lately certainly reinforces the argument that he inherited that team. This year's team is currently on pace to be the lowest scoring team in franchise HISTORY.

I was talking to a season ticket owner today and he was saying if we lose to Calgary tonight and MG still has his job Monday; he's cancelling his season tickets.

Tank it right boys
Ottawa winning

Everyone behind us has games in hand other than the Isls.

If this tank is done right we could pick top 4.

This is definitely the correct attitude for Canucks Nation.
If we barely miss the playoffs the owner & gm may think this year wan an 'anomaly'... but if we tank right to the end their should be a stronger appetite for the change that should have started taking place a couple years ago now...

Oh be still my heart, if we won the lottery I would cheer like an Oiler fan.

What type of riot do we have for winning the draft lottery?

What type of riot do we have for losing the draft lottery?

Roger that....

Keenan actually traded for 2/3 of the west coast express iirc. Bert's trade also helped bring in Luongo... Was Mcabe a keenan acquisition or pick? That turned into getting the 2nd Sedin later under Burke....

I think Gillis is forever going to be remembered for more screw ups than great moves. Even if recent moves for young players work out, it will remembered that it was involved or forced by a series of poorly timed and poorly managed situations created by Giilis himself. Just how bad this team was handled in what should have been more than 1 season of playoff success will never be forgotten any time soon.

And he really has no reason to be? Like Booner wrote, Keenan at least won trades and set the franchise up for the future, he brought in Bert, McCabe and Ruutu in the Linden trade.

Bert brought us Lu and McCabe was the center piece in the second draft pick for the twins. Gillis brought in Higgins, Ehrhoff and Lappy....how exactly are those guys gonna set us up for the future? Higgins is the only one left, the others walked for nothing.

One royal (frank) up after another with this clown.

Gillis's time has to be up. I've gone from full season to half season and will now go to the cheapest ice pack I can get just so I can keep my priority. What a cluster. This is like the Canucks after Keenan came in and made everyone lose confidence. The plus is that people welcome change after crisis and if this isn't one, i don't know what is.

Don't be too hard the guy....the real facts are that team that went to final had a core group of Forwards, D and goaltending in their primes. Not saying many are past it, but more than likely the best years of the Twins, Burrows, Luongo, Bieksa are probably slightly in the rear view mirror.

In a lot of ways, this team is in a very enviable position.

Good prospects, decent young goalies, and plenty of assets that can be moved for HUGE return in Kesler, Edler and either Hamhuis or Bieska (I wouldnt trade both).
Turn them into picks and prospects, to join Corrado, Horvat and Shinkarek, keep The Twins , Burrows and a couple solid D-Men to teach and mentor and this team can be amazing in 3 years.

Imagine how good this team would be if the Twins were your 2nd liners?

if they traded Edler and Kesler for Jurco and Weiss that would be a good start.[/img]

Surely the Nucks can beat the lowly Flames after they played the night before...
