That's a decent deal. I'm surprised he didn't take it. - Yeti1181
I disagree as does most respectable pundits. "Not even close to keslers value" I believe was MacKenzies comment.
Dreger suggested Kadri, a 1st and either Gardiner or Rielly.
Given what the flames received for Boumeester with a train wreck of a contract, I think that's closer to Edlers value |

Aquilini doesn't have a glue what he's doing, he's a better judge of wine than players. |

I don't think most on here are bandwagon fans. Win or lose they are here everyday talking about the team they love. Just because they are not favourable comments does not make them a bandwagon fan. - VANTEL
I've been a fan of this team since I was a little guy, which is longer than some of these (frank)ers have been alive. If I was gonna give up I'd have done it long ago, I may not always be happy but this is my team.
Anyone watch the Mike Modano tribute? Almost brought a tear to my eye, Dean Braham and I used to call him chubby cheeks, he hated that lol. |

Dreger suggested that's what Gillis would ask for. Needless to say, he isn't getting that kind of return. |

I think he gets a first and a solid prospect or very good 2/3 liner |

There is nothing wrong with being upset about the direction or state of the team. I personally am scared were gonna flame or leaf it. |

So why is the market for him so much less the players with same stats, value etc? |

Vanek got a mid-level prospect and a 2nd. The worry with Kesler is that he's never gonna be what he was 4 years ago due to his health. |

Who is the value so high for? Who are we comparing him to? His last two years, last year he had a pretty significant injury last year. I don't think a second line center are going to get you a huge return. |

No because I don't think he's as valuable as you do I don't care what team he's plays for. |

I pointed this out. I'm not sure why he posted that. My dog I'm sure can see the large differance between the 2. But this is HB |

I'm not sure 5m is as much of a sweetheart deal as you do. And being a pending UFA doesn't automatically lessen a player's value. Exhibit A is the returns for Miller and Luongo...2 relatively equal goalies.
Is Kesler a 50 point guy...or a 70 point guy going forward? |

No that's what we want. A top 6, a bluechip prospect(as brayden schenn was) and a pick. Not sure how 2 1sts and a decent prospect equal this |

If FA had the balls he could make a ballsy move. Remember when Flyers offer sheeted Kesler. Payback is a female dog.
Canucks next year have about 12 mil in cap space. That is every before they do a buyout or get rid of players.
Scooby made a good point before that Booth has one more year left so why bother to buy him out. Canucks do have a left winger making 7 mil and has done very little since his concussion. A new GM could say let's buy him out we are going a new direction.
The new GM could turn around and offer Brayden Schenn that 7 years 7 mil. If Flyers matched they would have 5 mil to sign 6 players. If they let him go it would cost 2 firsts and a second.
I know Gillis would never do that but a new GM could .I think Schenn would be a hell of lot better than Daniel. |

Not a terrible comp...but Richards was 3 years younger and better offensively. |

Your right in a way. My guess is what will happen is he won't be traded till the trade deadline just before he becomes a free agent. And we will get nothing probably a weak first and some mediocre prospect. |
