Come on Vantal, I get your upset and not thrilled about the sedins contracts but this is a bit much.
- Bieksa#3

Would you take Daniel over Schenn.

Numbers don't lie. Sedins have not scored this year. If Daniel returns he might be on pace for 16 . That is not being upset it is ludicrous

Just stopped in for a bit. Just sold my house and am in the process of buying another. Closing April 4th. So between work, family, lawyers and packing. I'm busy as hell

Honest question who would you rather at this time and going forward , Brayden Schenn or Daniel SEdin.

Is both an option?

I hear ya. Playing with real dollars determines how comfortable things will be for the next couple of years. Hope it goes well.

Lawyers...money in the toilet if I ever saw it. I've had to deal with them quite a bit recently and for the fees they've received I'm expecting the cure for cancer to be part of the package.

Good luck with the new house. Hopefully you made a tidy profit on the last one.

How is giving up a plethra of 1st Rounders of which are gonna be fairly high, going to help us. That's a patch work fix. As I laid out earlier the canucks need to move Edler for a young potential top 6 forward like Marcus Johannsson, sign Moulson and perhaps somebody else to short term big money deals.

If you offered Schenn 5 mil Holmer would match in a heartbeat. You have to decide do you want the player and what is the number that he couldn't accept.

Like I said earlier, if I was GM I would offer sheet Schenn 7.5 and buy out Daniel. very bold move but would set the team right in so many ways.

The Sedins are still your best players. I agree with others...they just need some actual support and they'll bounce back.

The million dollar question. It's far easier said than done but the hope was that if Kesler and Edler were traded we could get some guys in like Granlund or Schenn or someone of top line potential in the near future. No doubt a key UFA signing would need to come in but with the added cap space it's a possibility.

Unfortunately we don't have that Logan Couture waiting in the wings but if Horvat can hit the ground running at the NHL level that would help expedite the transition.

- AlexF

Excellent points.

If you package Kesler and Edler you could def get a top line guy that's just stuck behind other guys at the moment, which would be younger as well too. Horvat may be able to play a top six role next year so that would be another spot as well.

It actually is.

yeti was saying we would have a first line of 7 mil. I was saying it doesn't need to be.

We can have all three very easily. Buy out Booth or B ur rows is an easier way out.in reality we don't need to buy out anyone to offer sheet Schenn though

Nice... so cost of living isn't completely ridiculous! A buddy of mine sent me a job posting at UBC which would be awesome, apart from the fact that we'd have to move out of a decent house here and spend $200k more to get a small apartment near to UBC.... unless I wanna commute for an hour each way every day

Who would you have replace him? I don't think it's Torts per se; a coaching change is usually going to take some time to translate into on-ice success...

In my expieriance it all evens out. Most places that have a high cost of living also have higher paying jobs

Im thinking moving to calgary and thought about the money I would save in just buying everyday essential for me and the animals would be close to 10 000 a year that's a lot of money month to month and I should be able to make comparatively to what I make now.

It would start at about $80k, which is okay... Mrs Lums would be able to transfer within her company, but they actually pay more here in Edmonton than for comparable jobs in Vancouver for some reason...
