I hear ya. Playing with real dollars determines how comfortable things will be for the next couple of years. Hope it goes well.

I think the whole sitting in limbo waiting for offers, conditions to be lifted etc is the worst part of it

That is correct Bieksa 3 said a plethora . I think he assumed it would be 4 like the old CBA.

It would start at about $80k, which is okay... Mrs Lums would be able to transfer within her company, but they actually pay more here in Edmonton than for comparable jobs in Vancouver for some reason...

They have to pay her to actually live in Edmonton.

The Sedins are still your best players. I agree with others...they just need some actual support and they'll bounce back.
- djamon

If burrows could bury the (frank)ing puck would help them out too. Burrows scored like 20 to 30 on average so that's like 15 to 25 assist the Sedins are losing right there.

Im thinking moving to calgary and thought about the money I would save in just buying everyday essential for me and the animals would be close to 10 000 a year that's a lot of money month to month and I should be able to make comparatively to what I make now.

Excellent points.

If you package Kesler and Edler you could def get a top line guy that's just stuck behind other guys at the moment, which would be younger as well too. Horvat may be able to play a top six role next year so that would be another spot as well.

It's certainly not straight forward and does require an astute GM working with a quality scouting staff to single out the budding stars before their stats begin reflecting their talent.

I was on here advocating for Granlund + Coyle for Kesler several months back. But after the Olympics when Granlund carried top line duties for Finland with impressive ease I'd say he's become untouchable. I was a big fan of Nyquist over the summer but his play has proven his promise.

we all want established guys coming back but the real gems are lying just beneath the grass about to sprout.

That's because they include "poophole pay" in any Edmonton salary.

I bartended for years. Loved it. Plus you get to keep talking hockey.

I still have dreams of opening up a craft brewery but since I first had that idea craft beer has exploded in BC so I may have missed the train.

Can definitely make some good coin in the F&B industry, I hope it all works out for you - I'm sure it will.

I like it better when we're at each others throats though lol.

Edit: as of the end of Feb I've already made 55k, you should've went to school

That feels better

I'll spam these boards a few times over the next while...

Anyone willing to donate to kids cancer this is a good way to do it. The Oilympics is doing the Guiness world record hockey game again this year in May. Anyone around Calgary should go out and check it out. We've raised millions for cancer. This year we have Don Cherry and Ron Maclean broadcasting from the game. The Hip are going to be there and will be guest refs. Rick Mercer doing a segment. Ellen doing a segment among much much more. 10 day straight hockey game. I will not be playing but many buddies are and I'll be volunteering.

Click the link and make a donation. Either to an individual or just a general donation. Everything helps.

It's not too bad... Sure there are better places to be, but as long as you don't venture into the north east its a pretty decent city...
