I'm on parole. Not allowed back here.

Apparently mentioning that Atlanta became Winnipeg is delete worthy but a troll thrasher fan is good to go with his inflammatory nonsense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gillis is first in line.

The sad thing is both MG and Torts are owned $8m each over the next 4 years. Hopefully FA isn't too cheap to do something about this.

In my opinion both need to go, but I have a feeling Torts will be gone first. He is most responsible for the HOT MESS we saw on the ice last night. He's the one who made the goaltending decision at the Heritage Classic that ultimately lead to the situation that we are in now. Most importantly, his system will never work in the Western Conference.

Probably because trolling Leaf fans have been asked to leave several times.
- Marwood

Wasn't trolling you bud, I responded to a Thrashers fan. Good try though.

Gillis made the decision to bring Torts here and sign him to a 5yr contract. that alone (other than his many other costly errors) should cost him his job.

Who the "frank" care we blew a 3 goal lead in the 3rd in a mean nothing game where the only thing of significance was the draft order. It's not like we blew a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period of game 7 in the playoffs. Get over it.
Now on a serious note, I think Torts is done for sure. I truly believe there was a plan in place for Lou to get traded this draft. Probably same package with Markstrom replaced with another prospect. There were a lot of good goalies as FA this summer. Torts decided to speed things up by starting Lack in Heritage classic and Gillis decided to end Torts career at Nucks by trading starting goalie and getting a backup.
We need Crawford or Andy Murray type coach. Play the strength of the team and use the speed. Trap is more Hitchcock and Torts style and is boring and will not work with this team. I really hope the rumors are true and Torts hire was FA decision.

If we are going to do this right, we need to hire john ferguson jr and Ron Wilson.

Did he? I think that was FA's decision. I think MG insisted that Glen Gulutzan be on the coaching staff just in case we got into the situation we are in now.

I'm no MG supporter, but I don't will see both of them fired. FA's too cheap to fire them both.

JFJ if nothing had a great eye for talent at Draft. Look at the leafs now. Most of those guys are JFJ draftees. If GMMG had the draft skills of JFJ and trade skills of Chiarelli with the eye for bargain bin talent of MG we would be the perennial contenders.

I guess we'll find out.

I hate meddling owners. Only thing worse is meddling owners, who get emotional and spout off to the media too.

Honestly the best move is to get rid of Gillis, Torts is not a bad coach. You guys have some good trading pieces to get you on the right path as long as Gillis is not the one in charge.

Sounds like Torts is not a good fit for a lot of "the core" though. I think there should be sweeping changes. Team is in complete disarray. I wish we could see new owners, new GM and new coach and I think I'm the man for the job!

5 guys in the top 9 in 25 game scoring slumps is not on Gillis. Torts was a panic hire by Gillis to save his own ass. It back fired and now they should both be fired....especially giving the guy a 5 year 10m contract.

You may be right, but it remains to be seen if the one who's calling the shots is actually F.A.

Not kidding, it's not like there was a bidding war for the guy. The whole Torts Saga reeks of FA.

Yup, this.

Torts system is not working for this team. Sedins shouldn't be our shot blocking pkers, core players can't keep up with the minutes they're playing, the cycle and offense has been sapped from the team, their inabaility to take any chances has limited them and lost their scoring touches.

The problem being is that Gillis may not actually be in charge, it's looking more and more like it's the owner calling the shots. That always bodes well!

Nothing will happen till the season ends. FA will then fire Gillis and the new GM will fire Torts and Sully. 8 Mill is a lot to pay for Gillis and Torts to leave but FA can make that in 1 season of making playoffs.
