So I just got kicked out of my fantasy football league(won twice over the last 3 years with some nice prize money to show for it ). Apparently it was because I didn't respond to a poll in (frank)ing March. (frank)ing ass holes were just looking for a reason to get me outta that league.

Canucks army bloggers don't know sh*t. Take anything they say with a grain of salt. They're not experts by any definition.
- Boinker

If there were experts out there that could accurately and consistently project what kind of career an 18 year old will end up having then there wouldn't be hardly be any (frank) ups at the draft.

There are no experts. Take everyone's projections with a grain of salt.

Sounds like Gilly is back... Why else let a guy on his way out communicate directly with the season ticket holders. Torts may be the fall guy here... They need to let Gilman handle all the media. He doesn't come across as a pompous ass. Let Gillis stay at President and have someone else as the GM even if Gillis's actual role doesn't change.
- 89_hockey

I'd rather Gillis than Gilman. Gillis is at least human, Gilman is a lawyer. It's bad enough that almost all politicians these days have a legal background. I'd prefer not to watch a similar rubber smile, all talking nothing saying experience in my sports life.

Pretty much. I'm 90% sure that Gillis probably takes into account advanced/possession stats, his scouts opinions and trends(what height/weight successful picks usually are, which leagues develop the most NHL'ers, etc.)

I think there was some data out there that suggested some overage picks(and also US college/prep) end up being good value picks at a decent rate outside of the 1st round. And I believe the OHL produces the most NHL'ers. Most of MG's picks fall into one of those categories.

Also forwards in the 1st round tend to be much safer than defensemen and goalies are the hardest to project/predict ad undrafted/late goalies are pretty plentiful.

Pretty obvious when looking at his draft history that Gillis tries to ply the odds and why he called the draft a "crapshoot".

I would have to agree; my tolerance for bullpoop has been reduced dramatically since I have quit smoking. I love my wife, she can be really franking annoying sometimes!

Gillis has a Law Degree as well. And it's not even from the University of Phoenix.

Sounds like Jensen may start tonight's game on the top line, whatever that looks like these days.

Didn't say I enjoyed it.

Any tidbits about hockey is more enjoyable than FM soft rock.

Just hoping Torts doesn't look for an excuse to bench him. Give him 14+ minutes in the top 6 with PP time. A team like SJ does a good job of bringing up their young players and playing them with some of their better veterans(Couture, Hertl and now Nieto).

Don't let. The door smack him on the ass on the way out.

Agreed. There's no sense in playing your higher end prospects with grinders. And it's not like anyone else can score anyway. As Carol wrote about, we're on a fierce pace to set the franchise record for least amount of goals scored. I'd put Daffy Duck on the 1st PP if it would do any good.

Exactly. I like how they have inserted Matthias into the line up. Welcome to the team; you're playing with David Booth and Tom Sestito

I have tried to listen to them and it is really irritating. I can listen to specific hockey related segments but then they go off on some ridiculous tangent and I switch back to my iPod. Somehow I haven't gotten sick of listening to my iPod even though I rarely update the music on it.

Matthias has a decent set of hands, we'll see how he finishes the season since right now he has the shiny new toy syndrome when we all like him.
