Yeah, I think Sacco was the bigger problem. - Nucker101
He was a huge problem, couldnt relate to his players. All he knew how to coach like was how he played. A dump and chase 4th liner and hope to grind one out.
Avs never entered the zone with speed under him, it was cross the red line, dump it in and chase after it. He is working out well with his same strategy in Buffalo. |

God, enough with the tone deaf phrase. It made no sense when Botched used it and still makes no sense now that every member of the Vancouver media has now used for everytime the Canucks do something. Tell me how is it tone deaf? - StevenStiller
Lou deserved that start in the Heritage Classic. It's the very definition of TONE DEAF. |

Chad Johnson might not be a bad stop gap for the next year or two. He's played well in Boston this year. |

Is it because Canucks fans have finally realized that their team isn't top tier like they all said? Hurts when you realize your team blows eh? Better start a riot to make your selves feel better. - Surrender Monkey
What? No sane Canuck fan thought this team was elite heading into this year. The overall consensus was 2nd round loss at best, and a lot of people had them pegged for another 1st round loss.
We're not all Ian Esplen..... |

Looking back now, he didnt do too bad of a job. Trading for Varly, Johnson, McGinn and Signing PAP seem to be working out now. - DDM-Coga
I remember how angry Peter Stastny was after the Chris Stewart trade.
Seems to worked out alright.

I bet Cam Ward could be had for a song. Would Vancouver be interested? |

That trade did look pretty bad at first, not so bad now, especially if Siemens end sup being a decent dman as well. Shattenkirk ended up being better than Stewart. |

No thanks, not a fan of spending big on a goalie unless it's for top end numbers. No need to panic yet, let the young goalies adjust a bit and see how the both of them finish the season before looking into acquiring a veteran. |

yup Shattenkirk is pretty good, but luckily Barrie is finally turning it around as well, the logic was the avs have a guy like Shatty already in our system in Barrie, we need a big minute crunching guy in EJ.
But I think if Shattenkirk was stil an Av, he wouldnt be as productive, he wouldnt get the benefit of playing behind Petro and Jay-Bo on the depth chart.
I think both teams are happy with the outcome now. |

Can't blame them for ditching Aramark and doing it on their own. Hopefully this means better service and better beer selection.

Is it just me or did the tailspin all begin with the incident against Calgary? Before that they were hanging in there then that game seemed to nueter the nucks. The losses started when Torts had to sit and they never recovered. If he had just started the Sedin line.... |

Time for JT to go, he's lost the team. There's obviously a disconnect with JT/Sullivan & Glen Gulutzan, they were most certainly two different hires there. IMO GMMG hired Gulutzan and the Aquilini's hired JT.
Amazing how important, in hindsight, Santorelli was to this team. Looking forward to the breakdown of the team and subsequent influx of youth.
Extremely dysfunctional organization right now, the only two examples I can think of is the present NYI, Sabres and recent past Maple Leafs. - LeftCoaster
didn't see the game last night... is this one on Lack, or was he hung out to dry by his teammates? |

Time for the fans to divorce Aquilini, dlck cancels a conly a complete ontract that effects 1000 people just to make higher profits off concessions. I am so glad I have never gone to a game under his ownership and I never will. - A_SteamingLombardi
Father Writz would be cheering in the streets I really hope it does not take you long to rebuild and be competitive, I miss the gut wrench when we played you guys. Wirtz did the same crap for 40 + years so sad |

They were top tier up until a couple of years ago idiot. No one in here is saying they are this season (or last for that matter). |

maybe Torts played Lack in the Heritage game to push Luongo "over the edge"... make it easier for Gillis to get passed the NTC.
perhaps "the owner" was smart enough to know a bad contract when he saw one... |

I thought that Calgary was the beginning as well, but the real start of the tailspin was the "moral victory" game against LA, followed by a 9-1 bludgeoning at the hands of the Ducks. |

You mean the owner that gave him that contract? Then flew to Florida to talk to him when Schneider was traded? Easier to waive ntc? He already stated Florida as his preference multiple times!
