I'm just saying that sh*t changes QUICKLY when you least expect it. Look at alfie. I doubt Bieksa realized how bad things could/would get. Once he sees Kesler et al go, why stay when he has a shot to win elsewhere? - clark_griswold
Alfie was Richarded around for years, not quite the best example here |

Is it because Canucks fans have finally realized that their team isn't top tier like they all said? Hurts when you realize your team blows eh? Better start a riot to make your selves feel better. - Surrender Monkey

With our past I probably don't deserve, so thanks.
Admit it, it was a funny bit, though. - Marwood

Tons of vets have waived is my point. More than not. Either way, it wears on you like the rest of the 'muskoka 5' in toronto. One year ok. Give Bieksa another year or 2 he'll snap. Iggy, etc. Ray Borque. IT's not a guarantee but saying he'll nevera waive is the losing bet i'd say.
Chris phillips is the one guy that really surprised me (not this time around but last) |

Like quite a few have said it seems when torts went to the Calgary dressing room seem to be the catalyst which is weird cause you think they would want to play more for a coach who is willing to fight for you guys. - Yeti1181
Injuries plain and simple, the Torts dressing room thing contributed sure, a lot of guys playing hurt or not playing at all.
Coach riding the twins so hard in a compressed schedule year was asinine, which most could see but Torts. He'd better not be here next year! |

in my post i also put 'i can't see playing anywhere'...he said he would only play at the start of the year/not be a rental. When did he sign? Christmas?
If he wants to stay in that mess i respect his loyalty but i'm sure the organization would hope he waives too. - clark_griswold
I don't care what he does either way, I just know what I have heard him say, same with Kesler but I haven't heard him say he wants out, does anyone have a link to him saying he wants out? |

Colorado has had 3 top 3 picks, Canucks didn't get that in Horvat and likely aren't getting that this year. So assuming they're bad enough for that next season, this team won't be competitive until like 2018 or 2019. |

He was still working with the Avs the past 2 seasons as a "consultant" basically just following Lacroix and Billington around learning the ropes. Was made an alt governer after that to attend those meetings with Lacroix, Then got the call up to handle the hockey Ops. Spent a few seasons being groomed by Crazy Man Lacroix, I miss the drama of him at deadline day
But then I think again of him trading for Tommy Salo and Kasparaitis and I dont miss him one bit |

Meh - if they play hard and fail I'm ok with that. The team is fragile right now, looking forward to a "re-tool". - LeftCoaster
Fun to hit refresh every once in a while...core is there. Shinkaruk and Horvat put you ahead of the curve already. |

To be honest the three biggest contributors are Duchene, Landeskog & MacKinnon, which were as you know bottom feeder picks. |

But his contract is done in 2 seasons (after this one) so he could say he'll never waive but then could sign elsewhere.
he really likes it in Ottawa I guess |

I cant argue with that, they havent disappointed, picked the right players in those position. (Could easily of had E Kane, Huberdeau, and Seth Jones instead) But adding a few trades here and there, got the right coaching staff in place and feels like the dark days are over.
Sorry but I still wont trade you O'Reilly even though I am feeling for this team |

At the time I was really torn bw taking either him and Jones. I thought Mack was the best player but Jones would be the best way of getting this team on track and pushing towards the playoffs again.
Ate some crow on that one. Mack is the real deal and has taken over some games this year being the best player on the ice. Want him to change his number back to 22 next season so I can get his jersey |
