We need more Russians anyway. GO get Yakupov, Kulikov, and Club Nichushkin over the head and dress him in a Flyers uniform.... - SchennBros
I was trying to organize a party to go kidnap Shea Weber and brainwash him into demanding a trade to the Flyers or he'd never play again. Unfortunately, all I could muster was 50 men and a wide assortment of assault weaponry, nothing close to what it would take to subdue Shea Weber. I guess Nichuskulinovinsky could be a good secondary target. |

HA! so is Schenn and Couturier and Simmonds and Lecavalier and Hartnell and Hall. - SchennBros
Vinny and Hall I'll give you.
Schenn's top-end is ok, he just takes forever to get there. Coots is slow, but he's made pretty big strides (pun intended).
Hartsy is fast, he just doesn't like to move his feet. Or he's off his feet, heh.
Simmer is a ++ athlete... great on his skates, speed and acceleration. |

Remember when they'd go winless in California before the break?
Good times. - Giroux_Is_God
It was tough, but they caught some breaks and played probably their best stretch of hockey this season. That said, this is without a doubt the hardest part of their schedule, and their last 4 games have left something to be desired in every game. Hell, I hope they go 9-0-0 (I'd take 5-3-1 as well). I'm just not feeling it. |

I'm thinking 1-7-1 if they get lucky. |

It's possible he's cooked. Due to injuries/wear and tear. He's a beloved figure in TB, I found it strange that they would pull the plug on him. Perhaps they knew something Holmgren didn't. - PLindbergh31
He was signed there forever for a lot. I think they did it to protect themselves from the recapture penalty. |

haha fantastic. It's like that guy who could show you how to do something, he just doesn't wanna.
Read: Hey Scotty, you wanna race?
Hartnell: Nah, not really.
Read: Yeah, 'cause you'll lose.
Hartsy: No, I could beat you. Just don't feel like it. But I could. |

The way they started back from the Olympic break, it's tough to feel optimism right now.
If they manage 5 - 3 - 1 over the next 9, they'll make the playoffs. |

Unless it's one of Hall, Eberle, RnH (maybe), or J. Schultz, I have no interest in a "big" deal with Edmonton for any of their roster players. - jmatchett383
There is no way Edmonton moves Hall, Eberle, RNH. I also believe Schiltz is unlikely to move.
The best options for a big move with Edmonton is either Yakupov or Nurse.
There are 3 things that make me think a deal MIGHT be done.
1. Craig MacTavish has stated he needs impact now players more then he needs top draft picks.
2. I read an article about 3 months ago that says Homer and his scouts are ga-ga over Ekblad.
3. Draft in Phily SMACKS of big Philly move.
Add to that, that Edmonton needs better defensive centers and bigger physical wingers and we are almost the perfect trading partners for that top pick.... |

They tried to get him back through Toronto but the NHL nixed that deal. They'll take him back at the draft for a 2nd and a 3rd. |

Think it had more to do with them trying to build a speed/skill team, and him not really fitting in anymore. They tried like mad to find players that he could find chemistry with, but it was pretty futile.... guys like Killorn and Conacher played at too high a pace for him, and they wanted Marty w/ Stamkos. |

They'll probably split in Pittsburgh. I don't see any way they beat Chicago, it's a 3-game-in-4-nights nightmare. They'll probably split between Dallas and St. Louis. LA is beatable, but I don't know if they'll be able to quite pull in out. The Rags at home has been a house of horrors, but they don't scare me this year. I think they take the home Toronto rematch. |

Agree with all of those. They are catching the Pens without Letang and Martin. Pens aren't playing their best hockey of the year either. They are coasting right now. Getting 3/4 points in those two games would be huge. |

I think they would have kept Vinny at the contract he signed here. They couldn't justify keeping him for seven years at $7.727 million. That's almost as much as Kessel's new contract. |

First, yes, those players are unlikely to move, as they are considered the building blocks. I consider B. Schenn to be one of ours, so I'd want one in return. Also, I don't know what "defensive centers" or "bigger physical wingers" your proposal had, so I don't think that fits Edmonton's needs.
Yes, I'd like to have Ekblad the same way I'd like to have Nurse. But I'm not going to move a huge boatload of proven talent and promise for a one-way soft player and a guy who's a prospect, albeit a very highly regarded one. I'm not saying a move won't get made, but for a guy who's never played a game at any pro level, I'd prefer we don't rip holes in our roster and/or prospect pool. |

Regarding Schenn and Couts... a KIA can have top-end speed if you give it long enough to accelerate.
I have never seen Hartnell skate, and say... wow he has wheels. More like... Is he skating in sand?
Simmer is average... I give you that... |

Makes things fun. I think we have a good team that has shown us they're indeed a good team. Don't really understand why people don't see it.
We could look at Chicago and find things to poop on them about too. But guess what? The Flyers have something ridiculous like a .600 win% since what? Thanksgiving?
This team is going to make the playoffs, and this team is going to play well enough to at the bare minimum stay afloat over the next few weeks. Just enjoy the ride |
