We are merely taking a page out of the Toronto Maple Leafs fan book.

On a side note, when is the ideal time to implement the paper bag mask?

Year one, two or eight of the rebuild?

I see some seriously disturbing comparisons of this year's Canuck team vs recent Leaf teams which missed the playoffs.

(1) Play miserably during the middle of the season with a group of vets which seem to be under-performing.
(2) Fans slowly come to the realization that the team will not make the playoffs and start to call for the coach's head.
(3) Cue tank nation.
(4) The play of the team starts to improve as the players are desperately clinging to the possibility of sliding into the 8th and final playoff spot. They put up a few wins in a row (it's only been 1 for the 'Nucks, so we'll see).
(5) While most of the fans are realistic about their chances of making it, some jump off tank nation, actually believing that the team has a chance. They're only 4 points behind (even though they may not have games in hand or have to jump over 3 teams)
(6) The team's chances of getting a top 5 draft pick is now affected by the winning streak.
(7) The team goes on a loosing streak to finish off the season, missing the playoffs and avoiding a top pick at the same time.

Same poop, different city.

I am not saying it is going to happen but this team could get hot and make the playoffs it is a long shot. I don't think they would make it far but I think they could surprise the 1st place team if they made it. I don't think they would lose for straight.

I don't see it - especially with Daniel and Kesler out.

Well, moreso for the fact that Kesler is out.

No way. This team isn't making the playoffs. We've got 13 games left, 3 teams ahead of us, all of which have games in hand.

Ironically, if we did make the playoffs as an 8 seed and played St Louis, it might be the only team we have a favorable record against and have some confidence in beating.

I'm curious. I have Kesler in my pool. I need to know whether I should trade him or not. It's a keeper, so I'm not going to dump him, but I'm also in second place within distance of winning, so if he's done for the year I have to trade him.

What's the story? Anyone know?

Problem is, if he misses even just a week, I could be losing my chance at $1000.

I think I have to trade him. Even if it's just a sprain, and he misses a few games, I have to.

Yes. What one player can contribute in terms of stats doesn't really translate anything in terms of what I think their team is capable of. I also have always liked his style of play moreso than any other Canuck.

Not anymore though. I took a trade offered to me. Kesler, Tanguay (was sitting on the bench injured anyway) and a prospect (JAke Virtanen, that's actually the guy he wanted) for Mikko Koivu and Tyson Barrie. Similar output, and I'm actually so far ahead in goals, giving up some goals for some assists is a good move for me at this point anyway. I'm second in goals, 15 behind the lead, and the next person behind me is 19 back. No way can they catch me. But I'm 10 assists behind two people. Catching them, if I can, puts me in first place.
