I thought the game at San Jose was their best game of the year. They were outshot 35-13 in LA. - PLindbergh31
Honestly, at no point did I feel the LA game was in danger. The shot totals were high, but aside from one crazy scramble, the Flyers kept LA to the perimeter and most of those shots were low percentage ones and Mason took care of business. It was a very solid win.
But I'm sure CORSI will tell you the Flyers were dominated. |

True. Most of the 35 shots LA had weren't high quality chances. Thing is Flyers generated very little offense in that game, and didn't have very much time in the LA end of the ice. Semantics though, it was a very good road trip. |

Going to play realist and say the Flyers go 1-1-1 against tough teams, and against trap teams 2-1-1.

So that would put them 7-5-5. How would you guys feel about that. Seems consistant with the team IMO. Is it enough to stay in the playoffs? |

3 pt regulation win
2 pt OT win
1 pt SO win
0 points for any loss....wonder what the standings would look like then. Dont see a need to give out a point for a loss. I dont care if a game is worth 1 pt or 3 pts. you want the points....earn it in regulation - Just5
2 pt Reg or OT win
1 pt SO win
0 pt loss |

??? I don't get the "1-1-1" and "2-1-1." There's more than 7 teams. I'm not trying to be a wiener, I really don't get what you meant by that. Sorry.
But 7-5-5...that's right on the edge. You'd have to hope one or more of Columbus/NJ/Detroit don't get on a big hot streak. |

Just make all games worth 3 points. There are 3 points in every game, have them divided using the IIHF standard. Why is that not an option? |

I think it will be close but end up being a couple points short.

I just want all games to be worth an equal number of points in the standings. There's no good reason for a game that goes longer than 60 minutes to be worth 50% more. |

Exactly, all games should be 3 points. If you win in regulation or OT, the winner gets 3, the loser 0. If it goes to breakaways, the winner gets 2, the loser 1.
That would work for me.

Great story. Can recall being around that age here (buffalo) wearing a Lindros jersey to a flyers vs. sabres game and getting a beer spilled on me while some moron yelled something. Some people get a little over the top considering its a game, that theyre not even playing in - Trainfellow
But its the Flyers fans that are the worst of all |

I'm almost inured to the criticism of Philly fans at this point and I am considering embracing the wrong headed view people have of us in the name of showing those people how ridiculous they are when they accuse Philadelphia fans of being worse than any other fanbase.

My point is they're everywhere. I don't think it's fair that Flyer fans get such a bad rap compared to everyone else. I remember a few seasons ago Emerick called Flyer fans "bloodthirsty".
Eagles fans on the other hand... |

Very True,
about 7 or 8 years ago, I went to a Rangers/Flyers game at the Garden wearing my Flyers jersey. We had good seats, but I still got a ton of verbal abuse, and some putz kept tossing popcorn at me (at least it wasn't beer!)
BTW the Flyers won on an OT goal by Simon Gagne, so I got the last laugh!
