Yes he is, very solid in all zones......coming into his own with his offense and as a leader on the back end. - ob18
Certainly something they can use. While I'm glad they took Morin and Hagg last year and I have high hopes for Ghost and Alt, I've watched this game long enough to know that they will be fortunate if 2 of those guys become regulars and 1 becomes an impact player. Much like pitching prospects in baseball, I don't think you can ever have too many quality D prospects. |

yeah. theyre awful in nearly every aspect, with no hope on the horizon. for all of the female doging people have given the eagles over the years for walking away once a guy hit thirty, the phils exact opposite approach is what put them in this mess. i love chase utley. he embodied the rebirth of baseball in this city, and everything that is good with the game. but in reality, he is a 30 something year old with 50 year old knees who is essentially done playing over 120 games a year. howard, who i actually think will have a decent year this year, isnt a young promising slugger anymore. he is a deal that literally could not be given away.
they just held onto the old gang for too long, and now are left holding the bag. like i said, its a commendable approach in some ways, and im grateful as a fan they got one. i still think its a slight disappointment, they couldnt get another in that window, but it happens. now, they are old, broken, locked into awful contracts with yesterdays pieces, and have quite possibly the worst farm system in the game. all with an idiot running it.
but hey, hopefully now ill be able to afford/stomach going to some games this summer - stayinthefnnet
If they would just start the rebuild, it wouldn't be that bad. Fire Reuben, trade anybody for anything and start over. If you understand baseball, you know that you can spend your way out of these types of things. You can overpay draft picks to keep them from going to college and you can overpay overseas prospects to sign with the Phillies.
They need to take the Cubs blueprint since Theo Epstein took over. They Cubs are cursed but they have a tremendous farm system now and will have money to spend on free agents once the young guys start to establish themselves. |

they wont start the rebuild. they will calgary flame it. because they still sell shirts of howard and utley and whatnot because now they are a fashionable team. it will take a few years of sucking and the return of empty seats before they realize anything. |

They need to fire Ruben yesterday. If he's really making all the decisions (and not being influenced by ownership) he's a moron. |

yep. like i said, ive accepted the inevitable. they wont be good, for a good while. i thank them for the good times, and now just am trying to find the perks that will come with being a bottom feeder.
i realize it sounds elitist, but (frank) the team being fashionable. at least in the days of travis lee and marlon anderson, you knew where things stood. i remember being a little kid and having entire sections of the vet to myself. now its just full of throngs of douche bag frat bros and stupid whores taking so many selfies you cant even enjoy the game. #letsgoPhillllz |

I don't think there is any question that the moves made are influenced by ownership. Whether directly, or indirectly.

and then they'll play 83 consecutive days in a row against each of the past 83 Stanley cup winners. |

I hate when the team is fashionable. Schmucks come pouring out of the woodwork and have no idea what the team has done over the course of the year.
I do hope they bottom out this year, and that smug bastard Amaro gets fired. I try to be dispassionate about sports, but I flat out hate that guy. |

I know. I don't like him either. I highlighted Kempe though. - PhillySportsGuy
Of course Josh HoSang opens up the scoring against Erie........had to find a game to watch since Laughton is not paying tonight. |

Nedved as a Flyer 49 games played, 21 points -28
His numbers are quite similar to a current Flyer that shall remain nameless. |

He's got offensive talent that can't be denied, just at times seem to think that defense is optional |
