There are elements to his game that work. The biggest problem I have with DP57 is to be a guy whose career was nearly ruined because of a shot to the head to be the guy running around and trying to incite things.
Pulling guys heads down and their helmets off and after the whistle shenanigans.
I saw the best and worst of DP57 last night, skating and scoring a nice goal only later to puck handle the puck and dingle-dangle around until the clock expired at the end of the period. Hysterical.
I think he's still immature and despite his talent, the Blues are a better group without him. - bcallaway
I agree. It looked like he was trying to do too much out there, especially after the game started to get away from them.
I was very unhappy with the Perron trade when it went down, mainly because they chose to keep Stewart over him. Looking at the team now though, after the moves Armstrong just made, I have to say the man looks like a genius. This team is stout, and there really is no need or even any room for a guy like Perron. It is much better to have guys like Schwartz, Sobotka, Tarasenko, and Ott rounding out your scoring depth. |

What about Brad Boyes? You forgot about Brad Boyes.
I'll take Carcus Man Crushes for $800, Alex. - bcallaway
We better pay attention to who his next man crush is, because he'll be the guy getting a one way ticket out of town.
Say Carcus, you still think Halak is as good a goalie as Miller, and that Miller is not an upgrade? |

He needed to start stuff and then turtle? If that is his game, I am glad he is gone. Sobotka & Backes start plenty, but they don't run off or do everything that they can to get a linesman between them. Did you see Perron go down in one scrum and hold onto the Blues player like a child to his teddy bear??? It was pathetic. I wouldn't love to have him back, glad he is doing great things in Edmonton.
Guess what, I don't care about Stewart. I don't care about Brewer. Even though I am still a fan of Halak, don't care about him either right now. You can name off countless former Blues playing for other teams. Don't care about them either. - carcus
Now earlier in the season you defended Stewart being on the team and Perron moving on.
That is part f the game that some players start stuff and then back away. Because what usually is called is the retaliation penalty.
But if we are talking about cowards how did your service in one of the two recent wars?
Did you do any talking about how you like to get the Taliban or Al Queada?
So you see how it easy it is to talk smack and not back up then.
Btw it does not bother me you did stand up to be counted. I just wanted to put you in some shoes and get you to walk a mile. Words are wind. |

The team looks better for sure. At the same time you can see elements to where Perron's game has matured. Keep in mind who is playing for.
The end of the period stick handling was no different than watching Schwartz or Oshie in the corners try to open up space and pull defenders out of position. The problem last season was it was happening for thirty seconds on a power play and he often skated himself to dangerous parts of the ice.
He sure did not turtle the whole time. I mean look at how many times we have seen one of our players dropping the gloves when the refs are already between them and a guy.
We do not even know if Edmonton gave Armstrong a choice between players and if he were given the choice he rectified it at the right time. |

I didn't think that the difference would be worth the cost, that was my main concern. It is still going to be costly if we're don't re-sign him.
But I was pleasantly surprised that we were able to get him & Ott without making big changes to our roster. |

I am a coward because I didn't serve in wars? You are a moron. Thanks for your service, but that is just a stupid thing to say.

I would agree. Perron has that natural ability to control the puck and escape pressure that is rare in today's NHL. Last night though, I think he began to fall back into some old habits of trying to do it all himself. At one point he made a nice play to escape pressure, then skated around behind the goal and all the way up to the half boards right past two teammates that he could have easily dropped it off to, but went back to the D man who didn't have much of a play by the time he got it.
If Edm ever wants to make the playoffs I think they need to trade Yakupov or one of their top 6 and bring in a stud D man, then bring in a coach that can teach them to play a good two way game. |

Ok, I'm pretty sure you said several times that Halak was just as good as Miller. Now that he wears the blue note, I know that you will speak no ill of him ever. |

Nope. I think Miller is very good. I just was never so down on Halak as most. So the difference I don didn't believe was very big. If Miller plays the way he is playing right now, it is definitively an upgrade. Still, when you look at just stats, there isn't a huge difference even when Miller has been outstanding.
You guys are funny. Seems like you just want to have issues with me. |

Have it your way man. Are you going to tell me next that there is a huge difference in the way the two goalies handle the puck? Or that Miller instills more confidence and is more consistent? Because these were all things that I and others were saying, all the while you were doubling down that Halak was just as good and Miller was not an upgrade.
You're the most Loyal Blues fan I know, but loyal to a fault. At least admit what you said, else Bcal is going to have to pull up some of your old posts. |

I am excited about Miller. But Halak was good here. People act like he was terrible, which is not even close to accurate. |
