The only word I didn't notice that Emrick uses a lot is "carom". Or "caromed".
I feel like he uses that alot. |

Im only 26 so I had internet, but not smart phones. This generation of high school kids lacks any kind of face to face social skills. Its not wonder dating websites are so prominent now. People don't have the ability to strike up a conversation with a stranger. - PhillySportsGuy
Your fiance's cousin would probably disagree with you. |

Do not under rate the sexiness of a man's laugh!

I laugh at them. |

The funniest thing is watching a kid walk into a place he or she is meeting people. If no one is there, they immediately reach for their phone. Its become such an insecurity thing. Its like "I don't want people to think I'm here alone, so I need to show everyone that I have friends on my phone!" |

I like those guys too. I like Keith Jones because he is impartial. They both have a good sense of humor and really like to rag on Coatsey - PhillySportsGuy
Keith Jones has grown into a really, really good analyst IMO and I don't think that's the Flyers fan in me talking.

I see people my age do that phone move as well.
I'm always amused when I go out to a bar and sit down to have a drink, and see everyone seated at the bar staring into their phones.
I mean, you really could've saved yourself some dough and done that at home, right? |

I agree.
I don't think Edzo is terrible. He points some interesting things out. He's just not fair. He'll ALWAYS point out a bad play by a Russian. He definitely has his favorites. |

see, i dont know. i can sympathize to a point. it comes and goes, bu sometimes im a fairly shy person myself, especially when i dont know anyone/someone. i recognize that certain fears and anxieties can suck, and people cope with them in different ways.
but my disgust with our generation (i dont know what the cutoffs for generations are traditionally supposed to be, i am a couple years younger) goes far beyond any such little insecurity quirks. |

I know. I don't understand why people even go to bars if they're only going to speak with their friends and talk on their phone. These things can be done for a lot less when you purchase the beer and hangout at you're own house with friends. |

There are so many women who will just sleep with guys because they're famous. My fiancé's cousin just slept with Brayden Schenn and I asked why and she said "Because he plays for the Flyers". She knows NOTHING else about him. - PhillySportsGuy

My son is almost 17. He doesn't know how to answer the phone when it rings. If I call him he doesn't answer or listen to the message, he just texts me back "What?" It's ridiculous.
He's been with the same girl for almost two years. She's a friggin' hurricane of words. People at the rinks avert their eyes when she walks past them. When they're together they rarely shut up. Everyone else gets grunts but put a cute girl in the room it's like we sent the kid to stand up comedy school. |

not to be overly sexist and generalize, because im more than certain there are loads of men that fit the same description, but there are a lot of really really stupid women out there. - stayinthefnnet
you could just say stupid people if you actually wanted to avoid sexism and generizing |

I think its easier when you know sports. It's reasonable to assume someone sitting at a bar knows sports. It's always the perfect icebreaker for guys.
Whenever my fiancé wants to go on a double date, I always ask if the other guy watches sports. From there, you can branch off into anything else. Kind of like now. On this website. |

yeah i understand. like i said. im inconsistent with it. i have no problem with say an interview, or sitting next to someone on a train and they strike up conversation. but i dont know. i couldnt walk into a bar and just pull up a seat next to like a random crowd of people and try to interject myself into it. |
