For our draft if we do land in the top 6... Seems like ekblad, Reinhart and Bennett are the overall favorite top 3 then it's kinda anyone's game - MaWLz
Draisaitl, Virtanen, Ritchie, Ehlers are ranked around 4-8
Also a kid from Sweden, but we need some toughness to go with skill in the West. |

Edler plus our pick for one of top 3 overall? I think the oilers would accept clearly they can't get a winning team from the draft. - pker2theend
You'd have to think Florida would also be willing to deal. They've got too much youth, not enough vets. Plus they're in the Eastern conference and we've dealt with them plenty.
Elder + Canucks 1st for Florida's 1st (I'm assuming 2nd or 3rd overall) |

If we're picking that high we need a C that's for absolute sure. |

It's not even that.. I fully expect to come back into the playoff picture next year, whether we can compete there is a different story .. It's hard to tell with such an off year but if we're not making playoffs the best thing we can possibly do is keep on tanking while we can |

We could get that but that might be one of the lesser deals in the offseason IMO. Unlike the TDL, there will be a number of teams willing to deal with the cap going up and all summer to become cap compliant. The major sticking point may end up being where Kesler is willing to waive for. |

What is said in public and agreed to in private is night and day apart. That said, Edler has the upper hand so it's his call to make. I'd have to imagine to a Swede that going to Florida for the same money is a decent prospect. Gillis needs to take him to South Beach for a weekend. |

I like where your head's at but I do believe that's a 50/50 prospect at this point. Some good decision-making will need to be done in the offseason for this team to be competitive again. If we simply press on with what we have I don't anticipate a much improved season next year. |

As much as I love Vancouver, out nightlife doesn't have sh!t over Miami. Throw in the fact that the guy is a multi-millionaire in his 20s and it's the making of a Will Smith music video. |

We have cap space , tradable assets, two or three prospects like Horvat Coraado Jensen, and maybe a surprise one like Fox or Cassels, and a high draft pick. There is little reason to not have a bounce back year. On top of that a few of our best have had career reverse seasons. |

Yup completely agreed.. And with the few games Matthias has been here I love his game and seems to be a sold 3rd line center. Have Richardson down to the 4th where he belongs and were not so stretched out down the middle .. |

I can't imagine a single one of those prospects contributing in any meaningful way next season. And re our vets, I agree this was an abysmal year even accounting for age. They should bounce back, but to what degree? Sedins will be 34 next season and if Kesler is traded we'll have no other elite talent to rely on. |

One of the big questions is Kassian a 4 th liner or a 2 nd liner. I would slot him in to start next year on the. 4 th.

I can see Burrows bouncing back but have a hard time seeing Daniel contributing next year. |
