-1 on the goal differential. Highest it's been this season I think. Hopefully Chicago doesn't tick it back up to like -7 on Tuesday. |

Our team won and everyone's favorite whipping boys - Hartnell, L. Schenn, Grossmann, and Vinny played very well today. Nothing to complain about.

everyone is gorged on the 4 point weekend ... enjoying the satisfaction of beating the Pens too much to comment.
maybe that's just me.

With the Ottawa 67's getting beat 9 - 1
Oshawa will open up against either Mississauga (down 2 - 0) or Niagara (currently tied) |

Did Crosby or Malkin get any points in either of these games? I think they average more points against the Flyers than any player not named Mario.
Edit: not trying to be a Richard. Just shocked. |

nope. i dont believe so. i thought malkin played fairly decent today. their frustration with their lines right now is evident on every shift. |

I thought these two games were the worst regular season games Crosby has ever played agains the Flyers. |

I think Vinny's skating is getting better and I thought he competed very well along the wall. Whatever plan they had for Vinny being #2 center has changed and he is an extra part. Back injuries are so difficult, I see him getting healthier by the way he is moving on the ice.

yeah id buy that. im not playing the winger card as a total excuse, because some of it still falls on him. he waited until the last minute or so it really show that flying gear. |

I still think he leaks out of the zone too early and wonders in the defensive zone. I would, also, like to see him stop trying difficult moves in traffic. I still haven't seen him complete one of those moves and have it lead to a scoring chance. Half the time he tries them, they just take the puck away and end the rush entirely. |

Bylsma just luv him some Despres.
Seriously, I just don't understand how that kid doesn't play and let him work through his mistakes, especially with the division secure. As a Flyers fan, I'll take Bortuzzo and/or Engelland on the ice as much as possible even when Martin and Letang possibly return. I think Maata will be a very good dman, but they have to protect him in the playoffs and give him plenty of favorable match-ups and offensive zone starts. |

I think it has to do with Couts too. Lavi chose to use Couts against Malkin and Giroux against Crosby. Berube does it the other way around. Couturier and Read are such great defensive players. They are just so difficult to play against. They are both so smart and understand If they make Crosby get rid of the puck, the rest of that line won't do much. |

Great back to back wins and much needed points gotten. The 2nd period wasn't the best effort, but they held on. Looked a little tired. Simmonds played a monster of a game and is having one hell of a year.
What are the chances they resign Downie? I just don't see it happening. I'm 50/50 on him right now. Couts and Read have been awesome. Also L Schenn and Mac really play well together, from what I've seen I'd like the Flyers to bring him back next season if the price is right. What do you think he can get? |

not to take anything away from either of them, as they are both great defensive players. we all know how good Couts is, but yeah, read is so crafty in that regard as well. that being said, its much easier with the lines being this way. make crosby pass (which he is naturally inclined to do anyway) to tanner (frank)ing glass and craig adams is a solid plan. not that kunitz and dupuis are stamkosesque, but they are simple and effective players that can score those passes and at least require being accounted for. |
