I thought it got a little more even as the game progressed. I still feel the Flyers outplayed them by a significant margin. Part of it was the Flyers getting 3 PPs in the first and none the rest of the game while the Pens got none in the first and 4 for the rest of the game.

i dont think i ever would have realized how much i would miss pascal dupuis.

The lack of PPs was a factor, but I do feel the Flyers let off the gas a bit.

Its hard to sustain that level of play for that long. They played 4 flawless periods for the most part.

Like Davies said, I was glad to see them take a shot and get back up and keep fighting. This team has had a problem stopping the other team's momentum all year. It was good to see them stand up and close it out.

i thought it could have easily been 5-0 in the first the flyers were that dominant; after that i thought it was pretty even as far as chances. both pens goalies made some big saves

Without a doubt. Fleury stopped some really good shots while still giving up 3.

he is. its not as even though dupuis is a rock star. but a little bit of competence could go a long way right now.

Yeah. I can't believe the Pens only have tough guys left. The Flyers always add depth guys to their AHL roster with a variety of skills. We joke about Art Ross Akeson, but he is a point per game player in the AHL and could play with Giroux. He has his flaws, but he's a skilled player who could put up points with G. A guy like McGinn has also shown an ability to play in the top 6 in a pinch.

Those signings of Fringe players who are just AHL/NHL tweeners may help later in the season.

hell yeah man i agree. the pens dont have that at all. its been reduced to pinning some hopes that maybe bennett can come back and help. but that cant be counted on as anything reliable. the flyers have a ton of depth in the skill department.

There has been umpteen players who can score at the AHL level that can't at the NHL level. Take Kris Newbury. He's a scorer at the AHL level, but a 4th line grinder in the NHL at best. Truth is we don't have any idea if Akesone could score in the NHL playing with Giroux. That pinch for playing McGill in the top 6 better be just a game or two.

Would you rather have Akeson and McGinn playing with G or Rinaldo and Rosehill?

Are you worried at all about some of these guys not being ready? Kunitz and Martin are too much or a worry, but Neal and Letang aren't guarantees.

If you were the Pens and you had Akeson and McGinn in the system, would you play them in the top 6 or Craig Adams and Tanner Glass?

what a weekend, just hope there's no letdown against the Hawks. Giroux, Coots, Simmonds and Read were awesome!
