Only 21 point underdogs. I think they will pull through. - PLindbergh31
Im surprised they still have them on the board. |

The difference is that they'll get rewarded for it at the end of the year. - MJL
There is scuttlebutt that the NBA is going to make draft lotteries work the other way. The team with the best record that doesn't qualify for the playoffs has the best chance at receiving the top pick. I think that is a great idea for all pro sports leagues. If they do that, you will see teams giving maximum effort every game. Rewarding teams for incompetence, is ridiculous. |

Yep... Evil Knievel... Didn't he attempt to jump over the grand canyon? - PLindbergh31
I almost bought one of those at a flea market just to show my kid how it worked.

They won't do that. No league will. What they can do is give every non playoff team the same opportunity at winning the lottery. Then, slot the rest in terms of worst to first record. |

Better not lose at Indiana tonight. Regardless of tank job, losing streaks like this are embarrassing, and show lack of compete, and competence. It's never good to be a laughing stock in any walk of life. - PLindbergh31
I'm glad that it shows what a joke of a league the NBA is. |

Doesn't sound appealing either way. As it stands, do you think the Phillies have a good chance at qualifying for a postseason? - BulliesPhan87
My view is that they would have to have so many things break their way. Starting with the fountain of youth being discovered at Citizens Bank park. The top bats in the lineup are all well past their prime. Can Utley, and Rollins reinvent themselves. Can Ryan Howard get back to being a run producer and learn how to hit a curve ball or a slider from a lefty? Having a pitcher set back in Spring training like Hamels has, is rarely a good thing. How about the bull pen. Lots of question marks with this team. |

A postseason? Maybe the postseason of the league that the River Sharks play in. |

Take the number of teams in the N.L., subtract 1, and hire that many snipers. |

I haven't been a fan since Jordan left. I can't watch all these players with tattoos on their necks, sleeves of ink on their arms.... Not to mention it's a watered down product. |

What they are doing now is plain stupid. Rewarding losing is pathetic. |

Love Jeopardy.
Had the lunchbox for about an hour and a half. I jumped it across the sidewalk and it got run over by a school bus. Talk about irony.

Hate to be pessimistic, but I don't even have that much hope for this team. Maybe they're better than last year, but I have a hard time believing they're a .500 team. |

I was going to say, maybe if we have a second Black Death roll across the face of the Earth, the odds might shift. |

yeah. thats probably the only way the team's various maladies would still have them in the running to be considered relatively healthy. |

I didn't think that my post portrayed that much hope!
Another thing that is bothersome is that the new manager has had to basically bench the team leader for 3 games in Spring training to get a message across. |

That is some irony for sure! I love jeopardy too.
Did you see the episode where there was an Indian guy on and the question was about India, he got it wrong, and Trebeck said something along the lines of "ohhh... that's unfortunate" I was howling. |

I don't even think they will win 70 games, Rollins and Sandberg will hate each other by the end of the season and Ruben will be fired. Its going to be a tumultuous season.
The only good will be they will hit rock bottom and start to build again. |

Flyers are the best show in town! If they make the playoffs it wouldn't shock me if they made a run. Then again with the schedule they have left, it wouldn't surprise me if they missed the playoffs either. If they get in, they will be dangerous, overcoming the awful start to the season, and being battled tested with the late season schedule. |

I was born on May 31, 1983. That is the day the Sixers won the NBA championship. So never in my lifetime had I seen a Philadelphia championship (of the 4 majors). Since the Phillies gave me 2008, I will give every member of that team a lifetime pass. Rollins, Utley, and Howard can go a combined 0-for-lifetime from here on out and, while I won't be happy, I'm okay with it.
They may be declining, but because those 3 were the cornerstones of the team in 2008, I want them to all retire as lifetime Phillies. I'm sure it's a fairly unpopular opinion, and isn't rational from a business standpoint, but that's how I feel. |

They sure are. And yet, some assclown will still feel the need to let out an "E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES" chant at every game. |
