But he's 25 or so isn't he? Matt Read came in the same age, he pretty much is what he is. I love Raffl as a 3rd liner. Absolutely love him and dont see why a Raffl-coots-Read line doesnt work going forward.
Boston really are head and shoulders above any team in the East. I think the conference will have to depend on Montreal knocking them off as they seem to give them fits. - Just5
I don't think he has the natural talent to be a top 6. His offensive game is enough to make him better than a 4th liner, but he's by no means some kind of incredible threat in their zone.
By me saying that, it doesn't mean I think he's a turd of a player and doesn't have the ability to score a few goals. He's a legit third liner who can fill in on the top 6 for short periods of time. That's not bad for a 25 year old. |

Did anyone else read the article today about how much of a disaster growing pot has been to the environment?
Something like 4 plants create more CO2 than a bunch of cars per year.
For the stoners: http://www.motherjones.co...statistics-climate-change
Be warned, it's a Mother Jones. The worst of the worst.

I'd love a 4th line of Laughton, Hall and Raffl - Jsaquella
That would be one solid 4th line. |

His age really doesn't matter. This is a player that came over from a lower tier of European Hockey, to his first Pro Season. That's a big jump to make. There is room for growth in Raffl's game.

It's largely do to illegal growing, which is usually forced to be done indoors and requires electricity to create a stable environment.
If it's legalized, and can be grown in the open, the environmental impact will be lessened. |

I hope he some how learns to shoot like Read. Right now he has a pretty lousy shot. |

Pot grows much better in a controlled environment. To me, it screams hypocrisy to fight so adamantly for businesses to reduce their carbon footprint while legalizing something with a gigantic portion to warm the planet faster than theorized. |

There isn't anything in Raffl's game that I would describe as lousy.

I guess it would. I don't think that he's ever going to be a top goal scorer or point producer. But when everything is considered such as his background and where he came from. His experience level, and his role on the team. His offensive numbers are pretty strong for a player with all of those factors.

I'm sure tobacco and any other plant grows better in a controlled environment. But, with it being illegal, it's safer from a legal standpoint for growers to conceal their operations.
Legalization removes that hurdle-most folks growing pot for profit aren't growing it indoors because it's better for the plants, they're growing it indoors because a cop needs a warrant or at least probable cause to enter a building. |

Hey I like the guy. He's got the talent to be a 3rd liner who fills in on the top lines when needed, for brief amounts of time.

I'm not a stoner. Never was neither is my wife. But she is a nurse. She absolutely believes there is a place for weed in therapy.
Me personally, I think alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than weed |

I would agree that is a likely spot for him in the future. But I think he's got a little bit of offensive upside to his game.
