I'm not a stoner. Never was neither is my wife. But she is a nurse. She absolutely believes there is a place for weed in therapy.
Me personally, I think alcohol is a far more dangerous drug than weed - Just5
Key being in therapy. I've seen on some practicums how it can help, especially with increasing appetite in cancer patients.
Lets get real though, a bunch of society walking around continuously high is pretty crazy. |

I don't believe in global warming, so this doesn't effect my views on legalizing pot at all. It should be legal, but now it will be abused as a place for tax revenues. Eventually the price of pot will be decimated by inflation and someone will force insurance companies to cover weed in their prescription policies and we can all smoke for free after that.
I get all worked up over pot. I love it.

Argue with the liberal media. Not me. They wrote the article. - Flyersgod
I'm not arguing with anyone. The point they're making is that currently it's inefficient environmentally to grow pot. Most of the reasons mentioned in that list are a direct result of the illegal nature of producing the product.
There's zero data on how a legal(and probably regulated) growing industry would impact things environmentally. |

I enjoy smoking, but I can't stand high people. It's one of my hypocritical positions I take. I want people to be able to smoke if they wish, but they aren't allowed to talk to me or attempt to interact with me. I hate slow people. |

Hey, it would be really against profit to think all the fossil fuel burning that has NEVER happened artificially like it has been by humans could affect the planet.

Haha not really, and I'm Catholic as it is. Its not even warming, its the effect of pollution. Do a quick search on the majority of those that actively preach against such concepts. See where the funding comes from.
No worries though, we don't agree on these things, as I'll be out and supporting re-occupy soon enough anyway. Live, and let live. Not place for it anyway, hockey board. |

I personally think that the idea of global warming is stupid. I prefer climate change. I think we can all agree that the Earth cannot maintain this current lifestyle and production and not have adverse effects on the environment. What to do about that effect and how to prevent it is another story that I dont have the answer to. |

I'd like some legitimate science on it before I form a real opinion on it. Science leaves no room for error. Average temperature hasn't gone up in 15 years.
Could pollution cause some kind of warming of the planet? Sure.
I fear more what comes after this. Say everyone buys into global warming/man made climate change/ global cooling and we start to cut everything back. With the population continually growing every year, we will more food (methane is produced via cows etc). Next will we fight for population control?
I really don't know. I understand its the slippery slope fallacy. Would rather government lead the way first and stop blowing our money on free vacations totaling billions of dollars every year (and tons of pollution via planes etc) and than crying about needing to raise taxes for more money. |

There's nothing to debate really. For the most part, the growing of marijuana is illegal, and as such must be done in a clandestine manner, which causes a greater use of electricity and greater carbon emission.
The article doesn't mention what impact potential legalized growing would have, one way or another. I don't really have a position on what the impact would be, other than the assumption that legal and regulated growing would clean up a good deal of the current environmental impact.
As far as global warming or climate change, I'm sure that humans have negatively impacted the environment simply because of the population boom and the increased use of carbon emitting things over the past 100-120 years(i.e cars, airplanes, widespread electrification), because it's simple math. More people, burning more fuel, creates more pollution.
I'm not sure how big that impact is. There's doomsayers in every field. |

You'd be surprised with the majority of my views. I'm pretty good at sniffing out a scam. When Warren Buffet declared it a scam I couldn't side against him on it. The guy is a hell of a business mogul. Close friends with the democrat party as well. Figure he has to have some kind of inside information.
At the end of the day, we're still Flyer fans. To me that's more important than global warming. Climate is going to change regardless of what we do. In a couple billion years our galaxy collides with Andromeda galaxy anyway. |
