I think Bernier is better...but see, I think Reimer's a good goalie and a starter. Bernier to me is a great goalie and a starter. Nothing wrong with having two you can depend on.
- mykokes

here's the thing

you cant look at reimer's stats from last year and say thats what he brings to the table.

what he is bringing to the table is this years stats which frankly.. suck

This Bernier injury is precisely why we need two.

Go leafs go.

- mykokes

Just have to have Reimer accept the backup role and all will be good.

Last year 2.67 gaa this year 3.00 gaa.

Better?

- burn

Up until last week I said earlier.

Heck I think it was you that posted a chart comparing last years team stats to this years.

Also, guess who's average brings that up?
Reimer's 3.22

surely not Berniers 2.61

And this is a full season

I watched the first 2-3 seasons of Dex.....told to not bother with final season though
- jimi james

You got out at the right time. The show became a joke after the John Lithgow season. The last season was the punchline. It made for decent hate-watching/ridicule though.

Well if you have better D...would that not make the tenders job a little bit easier?

Never mind Burn

Reimer is better than Bernier - stats don't lie.

Please send me your Corsi charts

- Garnie

Actually that would be a lie.....according to the stats. lol

He's got a winning record, and .913 spct which is better than any Leaf goalie not named Bernier over the past decade. Like I said, if he continues to win more than he loses, I don't see the issue. That's what a backup's job is.

Plus Bruce, for years I heard his sample size was too small to anoint him as good. So now we anoint him as bad based on a much smaller sample size? That's not so much for you as it is a general question I pose.

exactly.. anyone using last years stats to make the reimer argument is fooling themselves..

look at his most current numbers.. cause thats who he is NOW.

Salming was a great defenseman at one time.. doesnt mean i'd put him on the ice now (i know, extreme example but it makes the point)

Indeed.

Too bad they couldn't keep that level of interest over the last 3 seasons.

I dropped out after the apocalypse thing....

I dunno - he looks to be in pretty good shape. Good thing Komisarek isn't here or you'd be rethinking this.

I do want to see Bernier in these playoffs and even against Boston really badly. I can only imagine he'll get better over the course of a 7 game series.
