It would be a freakin' disaster. Like I said the other day, it is a desperate PR move and nothing else. Is Bertuzzi going to be the assistant GM? Will Bendan Morrison be in charge of scouting? Lumme the new conditioning coach. Maclean the new goaltending coach?

The thinking is that Naslund speaks Swedish so he can talk to Edler and the twins in their own language and find out what's wrong.

No way should Naslund be GM of this team, maybe assistant GM at most. He should have to learn the ropes like Joe Sakic and Stevie Y did first.

Maybe before you climbed up on your high horse you should have done all little more research behind the arguement of #Tanknation. I'm not going to go into any great detail about it because it has already been discussed ad nauseam here.

Nobody wants to be the Oilers, Flames, or Leafs. The leafs suck because they always traded away future assets for the here and now, the Oilers suck because they draft without a plan, the Flames suck because they took too long to recognize they were no longer competitive and always pushed for 8th place only to fall short. #Tanknation is the arguement to avoid all of these pitfalls. All we are saying is that it is in the best interest of this organization to obtain the highest draft pick they possibly can.

I personally like the way the things are going lately. The Canucks aren't rolling over and showing teams their bellies (except for maybe Edler); they are giving the opposition everything they've got. It's entertaining, but not enough.

There's no right and wrong between the 2 schools of thought of how the rest of this season should be played out. It's just a difference of opinions; except that the #Tanknation school of thought isn't as righteous about it.

The canucks are in a horrible position. A bunch of no trade contracts, no prospects outside of 1 maybe two, a horrible gm, and they bad enough to get a top 5 pick but nowhere near good enouogh to make the platoffs.
As for the Leafs, while they were trading away assets (over 8 years ago), they were a playoff team. In the past 8 years up until last year...they been a middle of the road team... getting middle of road first rounders.....not the best way to build a team. But they made smart moves and trades....something gillis is too incompetent to do.

So you are saying that we will be the new oilers with the tank for top pick and old boys club in front office.

Ya...that was a great trade you made in 2008 giving up Alex Steen for Stepniak.

As far as what #tanknation stands for, I would have had to assume the name basically summed it up. Going by the most common definition of having a team tank, you could forgive me for not realizing there was some sort of well reasoned ideology behind such a movement.

in any case regardless of position in the draft, i believe the Canucks should try and win every game to the best of their ability even if it results in a worse draft position. I don't want my team representing my homeland to roll over belly up. I won't cheer against them for a better draft position or be happy about them losing in a 'lost' season. I believe they have a chance, slim as it is to make the playoffs. I hope they fight to the last breath and the last second to score or win whatever the situation.

As a team and fans of that team, you don't earn respect by wanting a better draft position.

Typical ignorant nucks fan post on the history and state of the leafs. Your post just stinks of blind hate and jealousy.

You should learn your history before you go off on such a nonsense tirade.

And to speak of "the laughing stock of the league"....I'm pretty sure Van takes the cake on more than one occasion...take your pick:

- choking in game 7...rioting
- being owned by the blackhawks for years (the canucks were to the hawks as the senators were to the leafs)
- being owned by LA...and then mocked via social media...
- hiring a complete joke of a coach
- giving away 2 starting goalies for spare parts

Now I know that this post will probably get your blood flowing...and will make you want to respond with some kind of typical "67" joke. But before your fingers hit the keyboard...may I suggest you take a deep breath...sit back...and relax. Because the nucks perennial draft lottery position is just beginning...and you'll need to develop a lot more patience.

I thought i was being nice to the Leafs and their fans by saying they aren't a laughing stock anymore? (shocked and confused)...

I guess you would like to have me not change my opinion and continue to believe they are a joke of a franchise and team??
