I honestly don't give a sh!t about the after the whistle stuff, he'll still stand up for a teammate in a scrub(even if he's a female dog about it), but bottom line is to score goals and win games. He was due for this hot streak, all the advanced stats pointed to him being the same player but just very unlucky.

Back when I was still playing, we didn't have the two referees watching the play. So our solution for players like that was to wait for when the ref's back was to us watching the play and then WHACK! A two handed really hard slash to the back of the knees. That usually got them to stop their crap and whining real quick.

Jensen/ Hank/ Burrows... Daniel shouldn't be on the first line anymore. He should be on the second or third line. I think Hank is weighed down by Daniel at this point. Let Daniel prove himself on another line and leave Hank being productive with a couple of guys who can finish like Jensen and Burrows (post his drought).

Burrows was in a slump, couldn't get a break, it happens. the guy got a goal and all of a sudden the dam has burst and he's getting goals. it'd be one thing if the guy had been floating that whole time, but he's been busting his hump trying to get goals, but it wasn't happening for him. burrows is way down the list of guys i'd question.

Instead of picking on him for not scoring earlier, how about getting on a guy like Edler who needs to keep his head in the game and not worry about his upcoming nuptials so much. Daniel and Henrik would be ahead of burrows on the questioning front... I'd ask Garrison why his shot isn't getting through and why can't make the adjustments to get it off quicker instead of getting it blocked all the time. why aren't the dmen able to hit the net when they do get a shot off? what's booth been doing? how about kassian showing up every game/ every shift and not taking penalties, using his size more? How about Hansen working on his game to get a better shot happening.

Phoenix has a tough remaining schedule. Dallas plays 9-15 on the road. The only has to make up 3 points so I think the possibility of making the playoffs is real. That 2.9% will climb with every victory. Tank nation is for losers.

As for getting a bunch of top end draft picks, it doesn't always work out. Look at how many years the Leafs spent playing like shiite, and there's still no guarantee they'll make the playoffs. take a look at the Islanders who have had solid draft position the last x years and still haven't broken through in a meaningful way (although I think they are close). The Panthers, Jets, and others come to mind in that same group.

Tank Nation is for people who have no competitive fire, or pride in a team that plays hard representing their culture. The team in Calgary plays hard every night and is respected as an opponent around the league. The Oilers are a perennial soft touch and the butt of jokes.

The Leafs used to be the laughing stock of the league and have just come out of it this year. Last year after the playoff debacle they were the butt of jokes again. This year they have dispelled that notion unless they miss the playoffs or pull another epic collapse.
