Not Flyers-related, but if you haven't seen this, you need to. A 17-year-old with a life-threatening heart condition got to basically be a Shark for a day.
I find it funny that we were arguing over Karlsson yesterday then he went and got a -3. One game means nothing. I just find it coincidental.
When was the last time the Rangers were in a high scoring game like that? I guess the culture has officially changed with Callahan out and MSL in. - PhillySportsGuy
Even Karlsson can't save that sinking ship now. Put a fork in them, they're done.
I'm a fan of the 21-second clock kill against Boston in Game 7, personally. He's got so many:
- "The Shift"
- The clock kill
- 2009 ECQF Game 3, outhustling the Pen's D, going behind the net twice to feed Gagne for a SHG
- SCF Game 3 OT - jmatchett383
If there is one shift/highlight to show the body of work Claude Giroux has--it's the 21-second clock kill in Game 7. This is before everything else, his captaincy, the shift, the OT goal--everything. It shows how much of a gamer he is.

My buddy and I were streaming the Flyers feed on my cell in the stands at the Sens game last night, it was much better entertainment. A few Sens fans behind us were watching too.
Great composure by our boys after getting down 2-0 early. Ray shook off the rust after that, Giroux went into beast mode late and took those 2 points for them. Not a bad start to the dirty dozen, 3 down 9 more to go. Couts and Read will hopefully shut down Benn/Seguin next game. - Rocktane
Giroux was just a monster last night. He's played against Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Hossa and Kane and he's been the best player on the ice in every game.

Exactly. There's nothing glitzy/fancy/glamorous about it, it's simply a guy refusing to give up even when he's matched up against 3 bigger guys.

I really could watch that all day. That and the Mike Richards "The Shift" video, starting with the hit on the defenseman (MA Bergeron?) and ending with Pierre's comment about the alpha male.
I saw G's reaction and knew it went in, but didn't really see it go in on the shot (before the trickle) until I got home. - bodiva88
The shot was so blistering that I couldn't even tell in HD TV that it went in on the initial shot. I thought they were calling goal when it bounced of the Goalie and into the net on the rebound.

That's exaclty what I thought happened.. I couldn't pick it up in any of the HD real time replays until it hit the back of Raanta and trickeled in.. That's what I thought was being called the goal.. had no idea the initial shot hit net and was in.

I still don't see it because it's so hard, but I can see the net move.

I didn't see it go in either. Bill Clement even said the crowd had a delayed reaction because no one saw it. I didn't cheer until I saw it trickle in. The players knew right away though.
I was reading the Blackhawks thread and a lot of the posters were shredding Raanta for Giroux's goal. I think he was screened by Keith, not to mention the shot was a laser perfectly placed in the top corner. Raanta is the reason why the Hawks came away with a point last night.... Well Raanta and the goal posts.
