Anyword if Markstrom will get his first start tonight?

Interested to see how he plays in Van. Heard alot of good things about him when he first entered the league but like Lehner his stock has dropped signifcantly.

He's WAY better than Lehner, can't even compare the two.

Lack is playing the rest of the way as we make a push for 25th.

8 goals in 7 games against the Bruins says it is not Torts fault. How many did we get against LA in the playoffs?

When we were the high flying Canucks we had Bieksa Edler and Erhoff all had deadly shots and had close to 50 pts.. That dried up before Torts got here. Our back end is virtually useless. It is not big enough and strong enough to move players and most of them have the shot of a cream puff. What the hell happened to Bieksa's and Edlers shot? Garriison couldn't hit the ocean if he was standing 5 feet in front of it.Our back end plays positional hockey and covers a lot of faults.

Who is our guy that causes poop in front of the net?
How many goals did Booth have last year ?
You have said it yourself many times Higgins and Hansen are third liners yet they have been forced to play second and first line minutes?
Who is our fourth line? Who is Keslers line mates?

We knew before this season started this team had many holes. I refuse to blame the coach for that.

Acccording to Tortorella, he is not NHL ready yet. Neither was Jensen but look.

Should send him to Utica if he's not going to play. Cannata can sit on the bench for $300k less

It's not his fault, it's the salary cap and injuries. This year is just an anomaly. They are building a younger, stronger and faster team that is going to challenge for the cup year after year.

This is not for you, just my outward thoughts on "him".

1. He was given tons of cap space when he arrived in Vancouver as GM.
2. I heard the word "reset" last year, younger/stronger/faster, so what does he do? Hires a coach and calls it a reset, coach proceeds to massively overplay the three good forwards the team has = no playoffs.
3. The future does not look any different than the persent, lets hope that changes soon!

Clearly you have more experience working with coaches, but I think that most of the fans on here couldn't articulate what Tortorella's "system" is. I also haven't read anything from MSM about the system, or what changes could be made to fit the team better.

When the hiring was announced, I was dead against it, fearing that Tortorella was a push square pegs through round holes type of coach, and that the style of play would be five guys collapsing around the net. Early results were pleasantly surprising, and I quite enjoyed the high tempo, aggressive forecheck that was being employed.

I haven't watched a game in its entirety since San Jose, before Christmas maybe? Have things changed so much since then? Was that style of play a sham, and now it's five guys across the blue line? Didn't they outshoot their opponent the other night 41-20 or something?

I think its less about the coaching and more about the management not actually giving youth a chance / acquiring the players needed to compete.

It's the whole sh!ttery! It's coaching, management, ownership and an aging & stale core. I haven't watched a whole game this year or during the shortened lock out year. And have watched half-heartedly since the SCF.
