Then let's just throw everyone in jail so we never miss. - jmatchett383
How about instead of having a jury and finding loopholes in legal system, we let the prosecuter and public defender play a series of drinking games and the winner gets to decide the case. |

Probably not. In fact, fining them will probably force them to steal, if anything. That's why I'm a fan of making them work off their debt to...well, themselves. or just send them to Maury. - jmatchett383
I read that quickly and thought it said Milbury instead of Maury. |

Yeah, fining poor people doesn't really make sense. |

Apparently more than 50% of our massive prison population is there for drugs...
Land of the Free-ish...
- wolfhounds
That's just at the Federal level. There are far more prisoners and fewer drug offenders at the state level. More than half at the state level are violent offenders. It's like 17% at the state level. |

Why didn't you just create your and your USA team in NHL13 and play against other teams instead of having hundreds of people spend thousands of dollars and use up tons of gas and other resources to fly thousands of miles to play in a hockey tournament?
Because it's fun and different, and you want to win. But I guess you guys can sit on your mountains of power and scoff as us nerds with our stupid games. |

I'll use an example to show you why, in their defense:
In fantasy hockey, Patrice Bergeron would be picked 5-10 rounds LOWER than where he'll be picked in this thing they're doing. Fantasy hockey =\= team building |

I didn't know that. Thanks for the information.
For me, the real point is we have too many people locked up...apparently more per capita than any other nation.
The US is leading the world in quite a few poop categories, and I hope we start to reverse the trend sooner rather than later. |

Oh, yeah, I'm with you but I've heard that fact thrown around a lot lately. Relieving the tax paying population of the burden of incarcerating a guy for 5 years because he had two joints in his pocket is a deserving cause. |

So what is the proper penalty for someone carrying a small amount of an illegal substance? Fine him, which may force him to steal to buy more drugs because he has less money? Beat him publicly?
I'm not disagreeing with you, just curious what the solution is. |

Sorry, I'm not cool with raising a daughter in a world where people can just walk around shooting up heroin and snorting coke on the street corner. |
