The team is playing extremely well lately. Great two way hockey, puck support, team cohesion and plenty of intensity throughout the lineup.
Giroux and Couturier are so impressive, they really carried the team in these last 3 games. Read, Simmonds, Macdonald, Coburn and Kimmo also seem to have elevated their game play and intensity.
Luke Schenn and Lecavalier have flashes of brilliance here in there, but they execute way too many low percentage plays, resulting in multiple turnovers.
Luke Schenn lacks that patience, that fraction of a second with the puck, he often feels pressured and gets rid of the puck a bit too early in my opinion.
I think Lecavalier is bringing down that 2nd line. When Hartnell was with B.Schenn and Simmonds, they had great cohesion and more importantly, they were contributing in the goal department. Lecavalier doesn't back check, creates low percentage plays. He was injured and he is probably still not 100%. He is also playing a new position this year, but with that said, I still don't see where he fits on this team.
Chief, switch up the 2nd PP unit already. - Chris48
I thought Lecavalier looked strong last night and played well. And Luke Schenn just put together 3 very strong games together in my opinion. Where his puck handling, decision making, and puck movement was very, very good.

best part of last night was that the play started by Giroux batting Versteeg's lob to the corner out of the air
and Versteeg following up with a half assed backcheck |

Her friends parents whom she was staying with and are lawyers, are the ones that encouraged her to do it..
DROP OUT MAN. One day, when time travel is invented your future self will visit you and tell you to drop out.
Maybe to protect the space time continium, he will contact you through a bloggers message board like this one, and pretend to be someone completely different.
He will tell you that he know what you did with that kid from down the street when you were younger, so you would believe it was yourself, and he would tell you that you become a power hungy, money grubbing a-hole, and that you need to stop before you destroy your future. Med-school is still an option... |

Both Schenn and Vinny have had moments but have been inconsistent.....I think Schenn has been better of late, although last night he wasn't quite as good. That's to be expected, against maybe the fastest team in the NHL. Since Macdonalds arrival Schenn has looked good, perhaps 14 or so minutes a game is a good mark for him right now......as far as Vinny, I think he actually needs to change him game a bit and use his strength down low....I am actually pretty impressed with how strong he is....he's lost a step, but his play the last few games has trended upwards.....he still has the slick mitts for sure.....as far as were he fits, he's in the first year of a five year deal, so perhaps his place will change over time, but for now...the answer is second line wing. |

I was being optimistic. I think by the 2nd month everything will be chaotic. Ruben will be fired, the team will start the selloff, Rollins and Sandberg feud will boil over. |

I think Amaro has dirty pictures.
It's amazing how this team has just tried to bandaid itself year after year, falling progressively further down the playoffs every year. If they want to win, they (and the fan base) have to be prepared to be bottom feeders for a while.
That said, I stand by my argument that I want Rollings, Howard, Utley, and Hamels to be lifetime Phillies, and I'll live with the consequences. |

I did notice an improvement with Luke's play in the last few games. I think Macdonald is a good partner for that D pairing.
Regarding the Chicago game last night, 3 or 4 times I noticed L. Schenn missing short passes, having his head down and just flipping the puck who knows where without pressure from anyone.
As for Lecavalier, how many times is he the one losing the puck in the O-zone.
B.Schenn and Simmonds are battling 1 vs 3 blackhawks and he's in the middle of the ice watching, instead of battling in the corner with his outnumbered teammate or pinning himself on the boards to prevent the puck exiting the O-zone and to prevent a counter attack He is ALWAYS the last guy on the back check, he glides to the bench for a change. He is a highly skilled guy, but lacks plenty in other areas. I know stats are stats but there's a reason he is the highest - minus on the team. |

stop stop! i try hard to silence the emotional heartstrings on this one. because part of me feels this way. although howard i think theyre stuck with either way. the amount of money theyd need to eat on his deal to move him, theyd be better off just keeping him. |
