Why not Ehrhoff? - PhillySportsGuy
Had a 1/20 shot. Didn't fall his way.
But really, when you think about an NHL captain, Christian Ehrhoff just doesn't fit, to me. That Buffalo team is stockpiling picks, but at some point, they'll need someone to rally around as well as an identity. |

I'm not sure how much more he can elevate his game ... but the guy oozes grit and leadership, imo. That's the ultimate criteria in choosing a captain. - FlyerGuy
It's just my opinion. Pretty much worth what you paid for it.

Dale Hunter is another one. God I hate Dale Hunter.
Also, I think Buffalo just threw names in a hat this season for captains. Didn't they not even have one last year? - jmatchett383
They seem to do this alot.
Wasn't this also the case when Briere and Drury played there? |

Open market value for Timonen is $6M. The guy is a veteran #2, two-way defenseman. Any team in contention would be happy to pay him over $5M if they had a need on defense. - PhillySportsGuy
That is fine. But I'm not paying market value. If Timonen wants to come back to the Flyers because he wants to win a cup, then take a team friendly cap hit so we can still fill some needs.
I dont care how you do it, signing bonus, or incentive based bonus, but I would like to see a low cap hit. |

Yeah, they were co-captains. Then they had the rotating A's. They they had Pominville and traded him. Then they had more A's. Then they had Ott and traded him. |

First unit seems to go 1:30, leaving the second unit with cursory mop-up duty.
I think being on the top-unit would get Vinny going, but I'm not sure it would necessarily make that unit any more effective. - Tomahawk
Chicago seemed to really overplay Giroux and Timonen. Voracek was given a lot of space. I just think Vinny's best asset could be utilized a little more often. I haven't seen him take enough one timers. |

So you'll reward his years of hard work, playing through tremendous pain, and giving you everything he has by giving him less than he's worth?
That's pretty (frank)ed up. |

Maybe. I see him as a JvR type. He's a very, very good player, but not one you can build a team around. |

Yeah, they co-captained Briere and Drury, and they also had a time when they rotated the 'C' around. |

I don't think he's nearly as good as JVR. I think he's maybe a #2C. Still not sure yet. |

i wanted a little more emotion out of him on the winner last night. was surprised by his nonchalant behavior.
i also wish the camera had stayed on raanta, as he looked like he was about to crack his stick over the net. |

For those interested in the fantasy draft, Bill Meltzer has indeed agreed to preside as part of the (or the only) ruling body. |

He was probably exhausted from being out there all night. He was everywhere. |
