Whose? torts has them playing like a respectable team now. - VANTEL
If he can manage the minutes better and play a different system, I'm 100% for firing Gillis, he's had enough time to (frank) things up here. |

I'm not saying they make the playoffs, only that in order to get in, they would have to be on fire - 1970vintage
I kno w and it is so true. We would need to be the hottest team in the league just to make the PO .i was agreeing. |

If the Canucks make the playoffs they will be the hottest team in hockey, likely needing to go 9-1 down the stretch. - 1970vintage
Lets get realistic though. If they win 9 out of 10 with the lineup they have, Torts should buy a lotto ticket. |

I didn't think a 2 way contract took a roster spot until they were called up? I am obviously wrong.
He is likely needed in Utica. |

I don't expect they will manage to win 5 of their final 10, but I cheer for them to win every time. If they win 9/10 it won't be luck though, it will be hard work. |

I like watching them play, gives me an excuse to drink beer at the pub with friends. - LeftCoaster
Same. It's fun being cynical and keeping reality in check. I've been saying since the beginning of the season that this was not a play off team. Having said that, I'm not in favour of tanking to move up a couple of spots in a light draft but I'm also not interseted in watching a 4 game sweep in the first round. |

Hank is down to 15 min a game last game and atmosphere is more relaxed.
Gillis has brought in a lot of youth and will get rid of the NTCs contracts over the next two years, he will stay on like Bobby Clarke ,calling the shots behind the scenes. |

Agreed, and its good to see some young guys stepping up, as well as some vets getting back on track.
Always good to finish the season on a strong note. |

Canucks are allowed to sign 50 contracts ,including the Comets . We are always sitting at the max. |

Dallas is going no where either and are better served missing the POs . Phx is a different story they need the revenue and the fan support. |

Then I guess it depends on who they replace him with. If they have no better option, they keep him. He can still be a depth role player.
And if they have a replacement to take his spot for development, they trade him or let him walk. |

I thought he took a different approach during the Nashville game, maybe it was just me but he gave Kassian a ton of ice and spread the minutes more evenly.
I still think he underutilizes the 4th line though. Dalpe has great wheels, that kid needs to play more. |

Finishing on a strong note gives a false sense of security. Teams get tricked into believing it carries over in the following year. They play more relaxed and are not clutching the stick as tight.
I have heard Ferarro say that many times and also heard that analogy also in Football |

3rd line RW, trade Hansen with Kesler. |

Is he better than Hansen? I haven't seen him in the role yet so hard to judge .
He reminds me of a Tanner Glass like a tweener. Not tough enough for 4 th line , not skilled enough for top 6 , and I thought Hansen would be better than him. |

Hard to tell when Torts is giving him 3 minutes a game, kids got skill, he needs to play. He's cheaper than Hansen and brings similar attributes, asset management again, I don't care how long Hansen's been here - he's a 3rd liner bottom line. Change it up. |
