Which is practically nothing... they give a budget (cap limit).. and approve any offer that is being made. They should not interfere in any other way. FA is behind Tank Nation?

I was listening to the sports market today on the 1040. Tom Meyenak or whatever his name is , said it is amazing how quick the Canuck branding is dropping. I didn't listen to why but made my own assumption.

I think back in their hayday they had a lot of unlikable characters, such as Lu Kesler Burrows Sedins Torres. We never won the big one but strutted around like we were the best. We think we deserved entitlement . Now that we are not winning we are seeing what other fans seen.

I know the previous offseason we were calling for Keslers head, and calling him a selfish jerk.

Lefty said it just recently calling Burrows a POS.

The Sedins have been called sisters and as most know I am not a fan.I like Hank but hate the two or nothing package.
Torres was a tyrant.

The saving grace of these characters amongst the fans was ,that they were winning. Now that the winning is coming to an end even the fans are getting tired of the dog and pony show ,starting with ownership and flowing downhill.

I think it is time to strip down to the bone and start new. We have some decent pieces .

It is all good. I am sure there are some fans of the Pens who find #87 pissing them off at times too.

Mayenek is a behind the scenes business guy. Previous to this, a few weeks ago, he was commenting on the Canucks website being the busiest in the league by quite a margin.

When people speak about unlikeable players, opposing fans say they are unlikeable but would be glad if they are on their team- giving it to the other team.

Unless you are the Leafs who have a huge fan base, losing should have an impact on the bottom line. If FA is interfering and it is hurting the team, it should be reflected in ticket sales and such. It should bite him in the ass.

Torres is a dink, but I'd rather he were on my team. Don't care much for Kesler either, but I have a Canucks t-shirt with his name and number on the back. So if he is producing results, I can't complain.

Winning is the elixir. It is a business. If I am going to shell out money for tickets, I'd rather see them as having a good team and a good chance to win than pay crazy prices and expect to see them lose. This isn't Toronto. And I am okay with that.


I appreciate the effort of the top players at the time but this doesn't give them a free pass from criticism if they are under performing. Rightly or wrongly, it is the way of the world. Very much a what have you done for me lately society that we live in. Go to a restaurant and have a good meal and return for a terrible meal so you complain... the chef doesn't try to tell you about the great dish he served up last week....
