Is your math right?
16:39 avg TOI over 70 games.
or 70 x 16.65 mins (39/60 = 0.65 of a minute)
1165.5 minutes
54 points
this would be 1165.5 minutes / 54 points = 21.58 minutes for every point.
If he had a point for ever 3.29 minutes at 1165.5 minutes then simmons would have 1165.5/3.29 = 354.25 points in 70 games so far this season.
someone check my math, but I don't think he's averaging a point ever 3.29 minutes if he's playing 16.39 minutes per game that would be about 5 points a game. WTF!!! |

just as relevant as the Sabres having 0. Carter wasn't traded to the Kings by Philadelphia - Hesh_
It is relevant.
They were seen by Philadelphia as two guys that were unable to lead a team to a cup, yet a year later helped lead a team to a cup.
Also you can try and convince yourself otherwise but LA doesn't win one without them. |

If you created Islanderbuzz, you would have to creat a time machine as well. The last time the Isleswere rerelevent was during the Reagan Administration |

just as they hadn't gong to win it with philly either, as there was no elite goaltender like Quick and set of similar forwards like Anze, Brown, etc. You're dismissing the great talent the Kings had, and the fact that they only received Richards from Philly. |

As has been pointed out, Philly didn't trade Carter to LA. Further, your reason for why they were traded doesn't make a lot of sense considering the run the Flyers had with them.
Kopitar, Quick, Brown, Doughty, et al might have a few things to say regarding your conclusion. |

I doubt that's the case, they were 2 wins away from one in Philly.
I've heard rumours of some shenanigans involving Carter and Hartnell's wife, with Richards stepping in and standing up for his party buddy. Not sure how accurate that is but it wouldn't surprise me at all |

didn't happen. they all joked and denied it. it's a story that was rehashed from the Lindros/Brind'Amour days as to why Brindy was shipped. |

I dont think any of the teams involved would undo the deal with the exception of maybe Columbus though at the time Carter was rumored to really be unhappy after being dealt there.
What i know is that right now , as a Flyers fan, I would rather have Simmonds and Schenn over Richards.
I would rather have Voracek and Couturier over Carter. |

Simple fact is Richards has 40 points on the season while Simmonds and BSchenn have 94. Plus the pick that came back in that deal got us Grossmann. It's great the trade worked out for the Kings and got them a cup but that is one hefty f'n price to pay. |

This Simmons guy must play for the Leafs, if he sucks like you say he does. Good luck hanging onto that playoff spot.
For the record. |
