Nope -- don't blame him at all. The Philly media are a bunch of a-holes, classic "Build You Up So We Can Tear You Down" set of buffoons
- AllInForFlyers

The thing is, Richie HAS been back to Philly already. I think he answered questions then.

What, exactly, do we all intend to learn from Mike Richards today?

just watched the first 20mins of a 2013 live show. they just ripped off hitler's face and chest. good stuff
- Crimsoninja

I believe it's also a tradition to greet and slay the current President of the US at each show. Also, they often fight Oderus' bastard dinosaur crackbaby son.

The thing that's always gotten me with the Flyers media is that they expect to be able to write whatever they want without any repercussions.

Carchidi's Captain Whine story and Panaccio's Captain Silence story were unprofessional. So the 50+ year old, veteran reporters can act like dippoop kids, but God forbid the 25 year old hockey player duck them or refuse to answer them.

- Jsaquella

Exactly -- Bob Clarke was totally correct when he called Panaccio an a-hole, too.

The last Philly media who had any sort of clue when it came to hockey were Bowen and Moran. Painful what there is now. Just effing painful

Hmmm... Ok... Noel is a hulking He-Man, and the 25 game losing streak is building lots of character.

Whewww.... I'm in the know now.

- PLindbergh31

Lets start with the fact that Thomas Jefferson made a HUGE mistake in saying that Bynums knee would be okay to play on. It wasnt. And it was such a big deal that the Sixers dropped Jefferson as their providers, and took on Penn Sports Medicine.

Second, Noel may not be a hulking HE-Man, but he is big. Very big. Not just in height. His wing span (which a lot of team put more stock in than just height) is incredible. He averaged 4.4 blocks per game in Kentucky.

Look at some of the best Centers to ever play the game... Almost all of them were the opposite of hulking.

He tore his ACL. Bynum on the other hand has chronic degenerative changes. Huge difference.

As for the losing streak, anyone who paid any attention prior to the streak knew they were going to be a terrible team. The trade deadline came, the org cut their losses, added picks, and is completely rebuilding.

Now the Sixers are in year two of their rebuild. They have the NBA rookie of the year on their team, a guy who would have been the top pick in the draft had he not suffered a torn ACL, and two potential top 10 picks in a deep draft.

They rebuilt. You of all people should be ok with that. Especially after being pissed about the Flyers winning games when they didnt matter last season.

I hear you; he's just another player now. Hell, the majority of the team is totally different from when he and Carter were here -- there's really nothing he could offer.

He's a part of Flyers history, 90 percent of it good -- hell, maybe even a higher percentage than that.

Potentially.

I work for Penn Sports Med, so I know he doesnt work here. Also why I am defending the Sixers.

I like Richards and still do. I just don't know what they want from him today that he didn't already say when he was here before.

Nearly flawless. Sorta like the Dean Lombardi of training staffs.

I think Mike Richards changed as a player the day he threw that hit on David Booth. I said when he was here.. and I stand by that now.

I think what makes me happy this season the most (besides the winning) is it seems that everyone on the team knows how to deal with the stupidity of the media. Don't feed into their BS, and don't make it easy on them to write those stories. This season seems to have been only about hockey...good or bad.

Giroux seems to know how to handle himself much more in the media.

We've come a long way from dry island, carter's wife banging briere's husband, nickel eye zherdev, goalie carousels, and bryz.

- feelingkettle

there's been zero controversy/drama this year, except for the tiny bit at the start with lava getting canned and G's slow start. today, i actually got excited for the first time all season about what's going on here.

They want nothing more than blood, something, ANYTHING, that would allow them to write something bad about him.

That's what Richards knew that last season. It's what Bryz was talking about in that last presser he gave.

You know, you just KNOW, that whatever you say is going to be a rip-job. It doesn't matter how you phrase it. It doesn't matter what your intent was.

You were gonna ripped for what you say, don't say, do, didn't do.

It's ridiculous that it's gone on for as long as it has, with those reporters. It's absolutely ridiculous.

So no one has touched on the lineup yet. McGinn playing 4th line while raffl moves up to the 3rd line. Anyone else nervous again about the 4th line?

maybe what his thoughts are on how the kings season is going and nothing to do with anything flyers related?

- PhillySportsGuy

It was a big deal. He went to Germany to have Orthokine injections in his knees and it didnt have a positive effect. He was expected to be back in October but his return kept getting pushed further back. Finally they sought outside interpretation and thats when his season officially ended. Big issue.

So with Noel they are playing it safe.

There really is no positive outcome of him playing this season.

I've seen Panaccio's act for...20 years now? 25?

That's just not how he operates. That guy lives to rip guys he doesn't like.

Remember the Emperor in the Star Wars movies? How using his hate powers turned him into this bag of old skin and bones?

That's how I always viewed Panaccio. He gets a pen and recorder in his hand, it's like the Emperor throwing lightning bolts around, shaving years off his own life.
