Ladies and gentlemen...James Riemer!! - Jsaquella
They're defensive structure has been brutal, no resistance through the neutral zone. Reimer has absolutely no confidence, this is Bernier's first full year as a starter and being a smaller goalie. You would think it would be more beneficial to have a more conservative forecheck, but the forwards seem to always be too far up ice.

Oh, my gosh -- they need a two-way center SO EFFING BAD
I understand Grabovski made a big salary, but I don't know if they even tried to find a deal where you flip him for another kind of center, maybe retain some of the cap hit - AllInForFlyers
Grabovski was not a bad deal for the two way ability he possesses. I don't get that buyout. |

They may just go out and sign good, bottom six defensive players but that won't help. Your team can't be a good defensive team unless your top 6 is willing to commit to it. Guys like Kessel, Kadri, JVR and Lupul just aren't great in their own end.
Im sure Toronto will find a way to blame everyone but the primary culprits. - PhillySportsGuy
Yeah, Reimer's already DOA up there
Of course, it'd probably help some to never, ever, ever play Orr and McLaren when you're giving up the most shots of a franchise in two decades

Watching the red wings without Dasyuk makes me both angry and disappointed |

See, I thought that, too, but whenever I hear/read what the TML braintrust says, I walk away questioning everything I think I know about hockey

Reports out there that the Flyers have signed UNH forward Kevin Goumas. He's a smallish forward, but he's put up a ton of points for the Wildcats |

Honestly, if they hated him so bad, why not see if anyone would trade for him? I bet they could have got at least a 3rd for him |

They get outshot horribly. If the goalie doesn't stand on his head, often times, they ain't winning the game |

From United States of Hockey, via BSH
After returning to UNH for his senior campaign, Goumas put together a 50-point season. He could have signed as a free agent last year but had a career year for the Wildcats instead. He is the highest scoring player left in the conference tournaments and will have to be excellent if UNH is to get past Providence. He probably has an NHL deal waiting for him when his season is over.
Interesting pick up. Kid seems to have a lot of offensive ability |

I haven't seen a team give up as many breakaways and odd-man rushes as they do since the early 1990s -- the problem being, of course, are that the other guys aren't playing like that |

Not sure. He's a couple years younger than Flanagan was when he signed. |

Doesn't sound like a 3rd/4th line pick up. As a LW are they going to try and put him on Giroux's wing? |

Ha! We gave up a few too many last year, but nothing like what they've got going on up there
Last year, we'd get split maybe...what, once a game?
The Leafs get split once a period...at least |

Not likely anytime soon. I think the length of his deal will tell how good a prospect they think he is. Flanagan got a year. If Goumas gets more than that, maybe they see him as a future NHLer. |

Intriguing. Stockpiling assets is never a bad thing - as the Flyers have a decent track-record of identifying outside talent. Now on to Folin. |

You know Homer will pull out all the stops for Folin. They missed out on Schultz and DeKeyser, it will be a very interesting race for his services.

Yeah, I meant in the future. I think our 2nd line is set for a good while so that top line LW spot is the only place I could conceivably see him down the line. |

It'd be nice to get someone in the system who can score at the NHL level
I don't mean to crush anybody down on the Phantoms...those guys are trying, and Terry Murray doesn't always get the most offense out of guys
But damn, those guys just aren't scoring goals, other than Akeson and McGinn |

I don't think Folin is as highly regarded as those two, maybe more like a Sustr level of interest. A lot of junior/college guys think he's a 4/5 more than a possible 2/3 |
