Seriously, can anyone confirm how's my years are left on Cappy's contract? I thought this was the last year? If not, he'll be around until it expires at the very least. - Jethro09
I heard it was a 2 year deal which means next year is the last year. So he will be around |

He knows more then you think - Vukota
I don't doubt that he gets info, but when it comes to something like coaching changes, no..I don't think he does. I think the only people who know ANYTHING about Cappy's future are Snow and Wang. If there's anything those two do actually do well, it's keeping information under wraps. What does get out is very much by design. |

Exaggeration but I did hear Ruttgaizer call him the "swiss army knife" of our blue line. Still trying to understand what the fack that means? - Cptmjl
It means it's good for the first year you have it but eventually starts to fall apart and perform like poop. |

1st bold: As I said before, two year deals are pretty much the minimal norm for coaches. You don't typically see a coach get his second contract with a team for only a 1 year term. Also remember, despite the fact that we all see Cappy as a complete moron and terrible coach, remember that during the Pens playoffs series, the idiot announcers were talking about Cappy as though he was a serious Jack Adams candidate. So while he sucks, and we all knew he did, there were media personalities who completely disagreed. I'm not sure how Snow sees Cappy, but I'm pretty sure it's in a much more positive light than we do!
2nd Bold: I believe I said "Afterall, Snow was the one who originally hired and resigned Cappy so that's on him"
I imagine Snow is very much on the fence with what to do about Cappy at this point. And that's why I mention that Wang's reluctance to pay for two coaches at once could the tipping point. - keaner17
I can't see how a guy who played hockey for as long and at the NHL level as Snow did could possibly be on the fence about Cappy. His record is atrocious. Prospect and player development on his watch isn't exactly stellar and he shows no signs of getting better. In fact , he's gotten worse. The roster is not as talented as Snow would have you believe but Cappy is not a good coach.
Progress begins with change. Keeping the same players and coaches = the same results: bottom five finishes. |

The thought of him being behind the bench next year makes me physically ill for so many reasons. I'm not kidding. - Cptmjl
agreed. He's quite honestly the worst NHL coach I've seen in over three decades. |

Answer: Marty Reasoner played here for two seasons. Josh Bailey received a 5 year extension. Amac was looked upon as a top pairing dman for two seasons. Sudsi Muraj lived half his life coaching our goaltenders despite awful returns.
The fact is you can will yourself into seeing something others don't if it's your creation/responsibility.
I think it's a very realistic possibility that Cappy gets canned this year, but I can't dispute that what Kasperko suggested earlier isn't a possibility as well. Cappy is part of Wang's happy family now, where made men live forever...or close to it. |

He didn't get near the leash Cappy has gotten. And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Cappy is far worse. |

He is very tight with Snow. Does he know for certain? Probably not but he has better idea of what those two idiots are thinking then anyone on this site. |

Details of NHL coaches contracts are rarely released. I think only 5 or 6 have been made public from the present flock of NHL coaches. He was renewed after last season and since it hasn't been mentioned that his contract is expiring (as it was last year), I have to believe he's signed through this coming season as well. |

Oh I definitely don't doubt that. But they also recognize where he works and if they don't want anything to spill over, they won't discuss it with him. |

He can't be making more then a few hundred thousand. It's not like they will be paying him 5 million to sit home. I still think he is gone after this season and I'm sticking with it |

Thing is he is not going public with it. It's based on convos he had with my buddy off the record. When Amac was pushing for an extension Snow asked Staple not to discuss it with AMAC because he didn't want it to be a distraction. That is just one example of Staple knowing something from the inside but not sharing it with the public. I'm sure there are many others |

Snow sucked as a player he was very arrogant and no one seemed to like him. He was the perfect candidate to leads this team. Snow can not make any decision he is more of a follower than a leader |
