"Wonder if Jack Capuano will think about using his time out soon like muller did earlier?" Um.... - Cptmjl
The canes broadcast crew had the line of the year when capuano didn't use his timeout with 2 minutes to go:
He's saving his timeout for the draft
Pure gold. |

Is nillson taken goalie lessons from Poulin? That was his worse showing. Could it be mike Dunham is a aweful goalie coach?
Looks like cappy finally figured out how to use clutterbuck.
Too little to late.
Dehaan and Nelson are the only two major positives to take from this season.
Also why do some guys here not like hickey. Guy is excellent. He is a plus player on team full of negative ratings. That tells you how good he is. He is a top 4 dman for sure |

Lee and Okposo are two more major positives as well.
The goalie coach is teaching these guys damaging information, they aren't getting better, they aren't building off the style that got them drafted in the first place.. Jesus this team is frustrating.
A lot of people have been on Clutterbuck this season, He like a plethora of other players have been misused and misguided by this coaching staff. He is better then what we have seen.

The fact that clutterbuck wasnt used on the pk for 3/4's of the season is a neon sign showing just how inept this coaching staff is. Its like they have perfected continually doing the wrong thing. There needs to be a complete over haul of the coaching staff or they will continue to hold this team and its players back. Snow allowing this to continue speaks volumes about how competent he is. |

Totally agree, and even though we have bashed Snow, I'm curious to know if Snow has the ability to spend $$$ on a real NHL coach? I've heard rumors in the past that Snow wanted to bring in his buddies Crawford, etc as coach but Wang didn't want to pay. I don't know how true or untrue that is. This merry-go-round of no-names has to stop.....Quickly |

Strome has been a positive as well! He has 12 pts in 27 games an is playing with 3rd n 4th line guys. Strome, Nelson an Lee should all be with the big club too start next year. Trade or buyout Bailey an get top line LW for Tavares. Kane wants out of the jets so I hope Isles are in on that this summer.
Defense we got.....A healthy Vis hopefully next year...Hamonic, de Hann, Hickey, Strait and Reinhart should be with big club as well we need size an poise he's ready. Guessing they use Donovan and picks to land a Edler or Gardnier the longshot is Subban draft day. Pullock prob another yr away from making big club n we have plenty of other dmen were we can move a prospect to get a vet.
Goalie prob Isles biggest need. Nabby should be back as a backup can still play 25 to 30 games. I don't like Poulin or Nilsson. Hallak would be perfect for Isles were they are now or maybe Ward if he's bought out n healthy. Miller or Hiller wont happen.
If we land a good goalie top 6 wing and top 4 dman we should be a playoff team next yr. Most of all let kids play....Strome, Lee, Nelson ,reinhart ,De hann all good nhl ready players. |

He would spend ten million per on kovalchuck. He would spend 5.5 on erhoff. 7 mil on vanek. I think its more an excuse invented by snow birds more than anything. Just like the not taking salary back on the vanek trade rumor. |

I have a feeling if it's 5 or a higher he ships it to the Sabres unless he has a decent trade offer for it. If it's lower I'm hoping for a trade for immediate help on our blue line or in goal. Let Nilsson and Poulin play in Bdgprt for a full season. Keep Nabby as a back up and get a legit NHL starter. This makes way too much sense, won't happen. |

Why is always coaching?? Sometimes players just suck... In a prefect world Nilsson would be playing every night in the Ahl if this organization had ANY depth in net. Nilsson so much said it himself last night |

I believe X's reasoning is we are seeing the same dropping down the instant the puck gets close to the net routine from both of these guys. He used Nilsson's pre Islander days as a reference to how much his style has changed since coming here. Seeing the same problems from both goaltenders in the same situations could be a coaching issue. |

The next step in his development is to become non material. Then not only will players be unable to see him, they'll will skate right through him without even noticing. His transition to become a ghost will be complete! |

So at this point we are hoping for him to vaporize? |

For me it was sometime around the end of November.
I was really hoping he would turn it around this year. He showed some signs last year, but he's worse than ever now. |

Poulin and Nilsson are getting all the heat while the coaching is the biggest issue. - ses111
No it isn't, it's not the coaches fault that poulin and Nilsson are freaking horrendous. It's not the coaches fault that the defense is thin at best and completely inexpierenced
Not that I'm a capuano and staff fan. But it's not all on the coaching staff |

Then why have the Islanders not been able to develop a young goalie? All these goalies the Islanders are drafting are bad? The defense is thin and the coaching staff wants all 5 guys deep in the o zone. How is it not on the coaching staff? |

It is always coaching because this team continues to hire minor league coaches. Bring in a proven winning coach and then we can look more closely at the players. |
