Absolutely. They can both suck. Or it could be a combination. Anything is possible. All I know is whatever the reason is, the results suck. - Jethro09
Couldn't have said it better and when it comes down to it that is all that matters. Management has to try to stop doing the same things and expecting a different result. If something doesn't work change it or you should be changed. That's what professional sports teams do. |

Exactly. Any other team in the NHL would have fired Snow and Capuano years ago |

Hmm, maybe we could have thrown in Bailey ... - JimmyP
The stupid thing about this debate is that Snow should have accounted for this when the trade was made. If he had to trade him to a contending team this was a possibility. Contending teams are usually up against or close to the cap. One of many things that I believe were not thought out if it is in fact true. |

100% true...but i would hate for the team to make a quick fix only to realize they shot themselves in the foot by making dunham the scapegoat...(again, certainly possible he IS the reason) |

all I know is that our goalies are constantly out of position go down way to fast and leave half the net open. My goaltending coach always taught to stand square to the shooter. Stay on your skates. I don't know what Dunham is teaching our guys to be honest - kasperrko

Next time I got to bport ill recorded what Dunham is saying; he is saying the same thing your coaches taught you. Its up to the players to be able to actually do it in a game consistently |

Why are they not listening though? Makes no sense. They are constantly out of position. Maybe Nilsson and Poulin are not as great as the Islanders led us on to believe |

Wish that was true, but seriously had a major concussion and decided to not play anymore as I was engaged. My life was more important to me |

If that's the case then we know where we stand at this point when it comes to these two. Let them stay in bdgpt for a full season and Snow has to be a GM and get a real goaltender. Keep Nabby as a back up. |

they were hoping so much that Nilsson would be amazing here at the end so they would not have to spend any money on a goalie but they have no choice at this point |

Has a lot to do with work ethic and also applying what you have learned. Maybe they are just not mature enough to be in the NHL |

The fact that clutterbuck wasnt used on the pk for 3/4's of the season is a neon sign showing just how inept this coaching staff is. Its like they have perfected continually doing the wrong thing. There needs to be a complete over haul of the coaching staff or they will continue to hold this team and its players back. Snow allowing this to continue speaks volumes about how competent he is. - Cptmjl
so right on Lee and Okposo too.
and you hit nail on head on clutterbuck. Snow brough Clutterbuck in and Cappy opted to use Regin over Clutterbuck, He also would play Cizikas for longest time on PK.
Cappy needs to be fired. Only time he has played guys in right role was when h was force to by Injury and Trade. Do you think he would have ever brought up Dehaan or Lee? |

I believe X's reasoning is we are seeing the same dropping down the instant the puck gets close to the net routine from both of these guys. He used Nilsson's pre Islander days as a reference to how much his style has changed since coming here. Seeing the same problems from both goaltenders in the same situations could be a coaching issue. - Cptmjl
My beer league goalie does the same thing all the time. We decided after last night's loss to replace him. Nice kid but bad habits. |

I think it has something to do with that and of course the other benefits of bringing up a player through your own system. I think Snow feeling he's not capable(He's got be feeling this at this point)of bringing in a decent FA has a lot to do with them hoping he worked out too. Well, here we are unfortunately in that very situation bcs if either of these two are in our lineup next year Snow better hold onto that 2015 pick. |

BTW, i told you Viz should be have been traded at deadline. Who here wants to bet that he doesnt return next year?
Isles need two NHL dman now.
DeHaan Hamonic and Hickey are only Locks in my opinion. Viz assuming he comes back. that leaves 3 more spots. Strait (is good 5-6dman). Czuczman needs to earn his ice time. (he has looked pretty good on 2nd and 3rd game).
But we need a good Vet or hardhitting 3rd or 4th year dman. |

Snow should get Reimer and resign Nabby as backup. thats a very respectable 1-2 goalie tandom.
Reimer stock is low in Toronto. That must be making Snow mouth water. |

Eventually I believe he would have but how they would have been used if there was no injury to another player is a whole other debate. Any smart decision Capuano has made during his time here has been a "forced" decision if by injury or otherwise. Kind of like some supreme being forcing Capuano's hand knowing that we as fans of this circus can take no more of his stupidity.
Who can forget him playing Reasoner in game one against the Pens and how that turned out? |
