Every time a player became decent, they let him walk. PA Paranteau and Brad Boyes come to mind. They will argue that KO or Vanek were better...but their issue is that outside of their 1st line, they suck. Now imagine a top-6 of Moulson - Tavares - Okposo and Paranteau - Nielsen - Boyes...now you have some depth and secondary scoring and players that have been together for a while. - rangerdanger94
PA? The player you let walk for nothing? That guy? Boyes? Really? |

Exactly. Depth wins in this league. Teams that load up their top lines don't have enough money or assets for other areas.
Moulson-JT-Okposos was a fine top line. If they wanted to give up that much, they should have looked for a defenseman or goalie. They upgraded the only above average part of their team. |

We were able to replace him with a top-6 NHL player. You guys replaced him with Bailey or Clutterbuck? And yes Boyes is a better NHL player than at least 7 of your forwards. |

This I agree with. The other point I don't. You don't sign depth guys for 5.5 million dollars per yr. Moulson was reported to have wanted 6.5 million over 6 yrs. Sorry, he's not worth it. |

His relationship has been so over blown since the trade. I'm not defending Snow, I'm not a fan. Never have been but to call the Vanek trade an almost lateral move shows you don't know much about either player. It was an overpayment IMO but I'd take Vanek over Moulson any day of the week. That line was vastly better with Vanek on it. - Cptmjl
It's hard to gauge a lot of value when Vanek only spent a sort time with Tavares. I can look back and see that over the last few seasons that based on production, Vanek and Moulson were similar players. Obviously, Buffalo didn't have Tavares, but it's not like Vanek was producing that well.

I agree with everything in this post besides this part. Moulson is just not that good and Snow should do better for the first line as well as the rest of the team. I'm happy Streit is playing well for you guys but him at 5.5 for 5 yrs is not what I want for this team. AMAC was god awful for us. Blatantly at times. If Snow resigned him half the fanbase would have shat themselves. We have a lot of defensive prospects coming up. DeHaan has been impressive so far. - Cptmjl
Defensive prospects take a while to develop and they need to be sheltered. Even though Mac and Streit aren't top pairing dmen, they could take the burden off of the young guys.
You need to hope Hamonic doesn't lose his confidence by having to play tough minutes every night.
I guess I've been spoiled as a Flyers fan because money doesn't matter unless it comes to the cap, but letting players walk for fear of overpayment will never help the franchise. Sometimes, you just overpay a player so you aren't forced to take a big step back. |

His new nickname will be Gooey.
Offensive talent. Big time scorer. Thats all I really know. |

Whether you want to admit it or not, the Rangers have a better 4 lines than the Islanders do. |

I tend to agree. I'm not sold Miller can win a team a Stanley Cup. Is he an upgrade on Halak? Yes, but again it's not like going from Brian Boucher to Tuukka Rask. |

The problem is they weren't. They were not playing well. Again, I'm no fan of Snow but I don't see how anyone could justify paying either of them or the term of what they wanted? I for one am happy he didn't. |

I agree but he would have tried with us and went to FA if he didn't. His stats also would have been padded playing with Tavares all season so he would have got it with another team. |

I know. I thought that was a reach as well. I thought Elliot outplayed Miller on their recent road trip. |

I'll bet. Did you guys get much snow last night? - Jsaquella
About 4 inches on the grass, 2 on the driveway, but a lot of ice underneath. Thankfully after shoveling, the ice has already mostly melted off. |

Good speed, good playmaker, lot of offensive potential and from what the scouts say, he's a smart kid. Watched about 20 minutes of youtube highlights of him and he's dynamic as a college player. |

Same here. The ice was bad this morning, which was a factor in the car to the bus |

It just seems like the team lets talent walk out the door, but they aren't replenishing it at the same pace.
Every prospect that comes in, a veteran walks out. There seems to be no net gain. |

It's okay. Their 1st line is better than your 1st line and that's all that matters |

Heard Buffalo is willing to shop the 1st for NHL ready prospects. Think Laughton, Morin, 2014 1st and 2015 1st will land you Ekblad? - SchennBros
