So your saying your happy with this defense going into next season? Personally I would like to try an get myself an upgrade on defense. Not the Buff or Yandle type, but maybe Ehrhoff or Edler. As much as it would pain me, I think I would also walk away from Kimmo, unless he takes an extreme friendly contract like 4 mil range.

But I admit, it would be tempting to move Laughton (another center) Morin (project) and hopefully 2 very late picks for a future Elite Defenseman.

Happy enough to not empty our cupboard for a guy who could be the next Erik Johnson? Yes. Unless you know for a fact that Ekblad is a future elite defenseman.

Like MJL said, maybe not nothing, but I have no interest in moving our top prospects (because we have SO MANY) and high picks unless we're getting a proven impact player.

Christ man, we all wanted to build out D through the draft, and now you can't wait to move them for middling (i.e. not "elite") talent, or to empty the cupboard for a guy with 0 NHL games.

I can't think of 1 good thing that can come from having twitter and/or facebook. Only thing I can think of is drama and a lot of misinformation mixed in with a few credible people, and a lot of mindless dribble.

Well only 3 ways for the Flyers to get a number 1 defenseman in the next few years... 1) trade roster players. 2)trade prospects. 3) Hope one of the guys you have exceeds expectations.

Personally I would like to take a chance with the prospects to land Ekblad. I like what I have heard from him. I think the likely hood of him NOT becoming a number 1 d-man is pretty low.

He's 6'4" and is a right handed d-man.
This isnt a guy that you see has an offensive game that needs to develop a defensive game, or a defensive game that you hope develops an offensive game. This is a guy that is already well rounded with size and strenght, great devefensive awareness, and great offensive potential. If anyone could be like Shea Weber, this guy could...
