I never understood acquiring Vanek in the first place. That team needed depth in every area and a goalie. Plus, a team like that needs to cherish draft picks because they can't spend as much.

They should have just kept Moulson and tried to sign him and Mac.

I just assumed it was a science term that meant homeostasis. Thats what Mac has brought.

Made ZERO sense. Vanek is probably a better player than Moulson, but the difference is not exactly drastic, especially in terms of production. Plus, Moulson is JT's buddy. Never see a reason to move your franchise player's buddy to make an almost lateral move.

Made ZERO sense. Vanek is probably a better player than Moulson, but the difference is not exactly drastic, especially in terms of production. Plus, Moulson is JT's buddy. Never see a reason to move your franchise player's buddy to make an almost lateral move.

And you knew Vanek wasn't going to re-sign there. You just knew it. Isles had a much better shot at re-signing Moulson because of his relationship with JT.

A move like that should only be made if the team is a bonafide cup contender and feels they're a top winger away from a cup.

That's good. Hopefully he can maintain that. He was misused by our coaching staff to a large degree but was weak on the puck, along the boards, and on the PP. I'm happy he's not an Islander anymore and I'm glad he's working out for you guys.

Agreed. I'm surprised the Sabres didn't try to flip moulson sooner...might have got a better price for him
