Dregger was on hockey central or whatever show talking about which team is having the bigger fall and he was right on the Canucks. We knew the Canucks were going to struggle this year except that December stretch gave pause for optimism.

Leafs were all about having turned the corner, best two goalies in the league and playoff bound with their goal scoring only to see the wheels come off the wagon down the stretch...

Not sure who I will be cheering for in the playoffs, but it looks like the only Canadian team to make it will be the Habs. Good for them,

Why have they never put him on waivers and sent him down to Utica? If he isn't in the plans for the future, why not see if he will be picked off waiver and clear some cap space and save some money not having to buy him out?

I really want to know what Gillis' master plan is, I keep picturing him going to China town to visit an old woman who throws chicken bones on the floor and speaks in tongues.

Our problem wasn't Lou, it was how the situation was handled and in all honesty I don't think Dion is the problem in Toronto, it is team defense.

Some healthy competition is good, but between goalies something has to give. Two #1's can work for a little while but sooner or later you have to pick and go with the #1 and the spurned lover has to be discreetly shown the back door.

Yep, anyone can be traded. It is the media that makes a big deal of everything. The outrage because the Captain didn't address the media in Toronto is a joke. Sid guy getting off on getting off. Lu with the untradeable contract gets traded and the media says the Canucks didn't get enough for him?

All good. It is funny that Gillis is a former player agent and he sees no problem with the way he treated Lu (business is business I guess).

I think much of issue is if you have a star player that is underperforming and you are unhappy with them, there isn't an easy fix unless you are willing to unload them for nothing and roll the dice on whatever is in the system.

If the Leafs didn't sign Dion, there weren't any better options to replace him. If the Canucks let the Sedins walk, we would really be in a rebuild now and a "retool" wouldn't even be a realistic option.

Dion isn't my favourite, and I like the friendly jabs to the Leaf players and fans and that old clip of Dion and Yarkko, classic.

Depending on the free agents available, nothing will surprise me. The problem with Torts being our coach is his reputation may not make it any easier attracting ufa's to Vancouver.
