I don't know. If they can get Santorelli at around 1 mill, it seems like a nice move. Having him there doesn't hand a roster spot to Horvat/Gaunce/Cassels etc. They have to earn it. If they do earn it santorelli can be used in a lesser role, traded or sent down

I disagree. Pro teams are suppost to be role models given the influance they have on kids. If the league started punishing the teams, then maybe they would have better behaved players.
Just as I stated many times before that a suspended player in any league should take up a line up spot.

But if you don't roll the dice and throw out the same lineup as this year then we will be in bottom 10 again.

I think Daniel is going to have a brutal year next year . I think Higgins Hansen will be raked over the coals once we start falling next year.

The fans won't put up with another year of what we seen this year.They need to inject youth and fans will be patient.

Over an 82 game stretch I think that top line will wilt. I think it madness to pencil in a rookie as a full time top liner. Even MacKinnon has been jockeying between the 2nd and 3rd line all season and that guy's breaking Gretzky records.

And I'm so jaded by Gillis and his inability to pull off meaningful trades that to expect him to pull off 2 for a quality return is too much for me to believe. I'm guessing Edler will end up staying. After the season he's had Gillis will likely find it tough to get equal or greater value in return. Kassian will probably be our 2nd line RW.

Your doing the team and prospects no favors handing undeserving players line up spots. Its like the parent who gives their kid everything and wonders why the kid turns into nothing.
If Santorelli and Horvat are in camp competing for 3rd line spot. If its a coin flip or Horvat wins then great. But if Santorelli wins the Horvat goes back to Jr and works his ass off to earn the spot next yr
