I'll gladly eat crow if he does.

Most likely the Flyers will mishandle his development and he'll crash and burn only to be traded away for a 4th round pick and become the next Keith on another team.

What can I say, I'm an optimist.

My question is this, and I think it's a fair one:

Giroux's line draws the toughest opposition, offensively. Couturier's line draws the toughest opposition, defensively.

That's fine. We all get that.

But if we still have to hide Brayden Schenn against other good lines -- and maybe we do -- then seriously, don't we at least have to ask the question of what, exactly, he's accomplishing at center?

If you're not shutting anybody down, and you're not a bigger threat offensively than the competition you're facing, well, (frank), you can do that on the fourth line.

Again: I'm not saying Vinny is the answer. But at some point, it's not unfair to say, "Golly gee, Baby Schenn...don't effing disappear against Nazem Kadri's line, at home!"

I don't think that's unfair to ask, right? Kadri's a young center, too! At some point, you do have to be compared to something, including your peers -- Schenn can't get a pass on potential every single freaking game, while other people get demoted!

Again: We all want Schenn to make it -- I want Schenn to make it. But if we have to effing hide the guy against every freaking team we face...then Flyersgod has it right: He's not ready for second-line minutes, if we can only play the guy 10 damn minutes, at home!

I prefer to be wrong. Although you make a solid argument.

Mcginn is next to useless out there. What the hell do you want B Schenn to do with him. Mcginn was just dumping every time he got the puck. If you guys dont see the chemistry he has with Simmonds I dont know what your looking at. The quick 2 on 1 he had with Simmonds during the blues game I believe is evidence of that. Simmonds shot that puck on purpose to get the rebound to Schenn who deposited it. Nice give and go's on that rush. Nah, these guys are 22 and 24 and their our future with Schenn at center.

You keep mentioning the chemistry that Schenn has with Simmonds. Nobody has suggested separating Schenn and Simmonds.

I gave you the numbers with Schenn at Center and Wing. How he is so much better at Center?

In the last 20 games, playing Center, Schenn has 4 goals and 4 assists. Man, he's really killing it at Center.

And I'm not looking to kill Schenn here. Just trying to understand how Schenn has been so dam good at Center that he can't be moved to the Wing.

- MJL

I don't want to kill Schenn, either -- but maybe...he's just not ready to do this, at the level of a scoring line center.

That's not a crime -- I started thinking about it today, when I saw that Ryan O'Reilly and Nathan MacKinnon are playing on the wing right now.

Again: Maybe somebody needs to be honest and acknowledge that Schenn might not be ready to play 17 minutes a night against second defense pairs, or NHL-ready second lines.

That's not a crime -- maybe moving him down in the lineup would be good for him, or to the wing, until he develops more consistency.

I just think it's fair to wonder if Schenn is truly ready to be a No. 2 center -- do you truly feel comfortable that he's going to show up tomorrow and be a player?

Because I'll tell you what: David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron and Chris Kelly are coming to play tomorrow.

I'll bet money that Claude Giroux and Sean Couturier do what they do tomorrow.

If you tell me you know what Brayden Schenn is going to do tomorrow...I'll believe you, but I'll be honest: I have no damn clue what Schenn's gonna do tomorrow, and maybe I shouldn't have to ask that of the No. 2 center.

I gave factual information why I don't think Schenn is better at Center then at Wing. Can you show me why you think that he is? I'm trying to understand what makes him so much better at Center.

I wish AHL games would be a bit easier to watch, looking at the scoreboard just doesn't really do much.

It's not all that bad for Leaf fans. We can go over there and tell them the Sixers won. That'll cheer em up.
