Meanwhile, B. Schenn has developed into a guy who occasionally plays a physical game and attempts to take cheap shots from time to time while occasionally playing a good offensive game against smaller defensively weak teams. - Flyersgod
So basically the 69/70 version of Bobby Clarke? Nice. |

Trying to watch Boston vs. Washington, but OMG, the announce teams are so biased, I can't watch either one without wanting to throw up - AllInForFlyers
Hopefully Rask is on the bench today, so he's well rested for tomorrow's matinee. |

Boston twice and st louis plus that nightmare florida trip where they never seem to do well....the need 7-ish point to make it.
how many games do you they win out of 9? - hogweed
Ah yes.
I love this part |

We'll see. But the same pessimism was there on the tough schedule before the Olympic break. Although I do have to say that the way the Flyers played in the last 2 games is concerning. - MJL
That's why I said what I did -- they look like they're sliding into a bit of a funk, though they did play better in the third last night
They really didn't play well last night, but I'm grateful for the two points

i don't want to pessimistic but they always play like dookie in florida and pitt right after....carolina give them fits....losing to boston and st louis would be understandable.....that could be 6 loses right there |

He is; they started Chad Johnson. Washington, in a bit of surprise to the Caps broadcasters, started Braden Holtby today |

Chad Johnson, surprisingly, has decent numbers (in a very short sample size) outside of Boston. |

Raffl drew interest from the Flyers because of his all around game. Because he can skate, and check, and play well defensively. I seriously doubt that his offensive game is what caught the Flyers eye. The value of Raffl, and why the Flyers took a chance on him is obvious. I saw it in him in Pre Season. - MJL
Lot of guys in Allsvenskan and the Elitserien can skate, check and play D... so why Raffl, and why only after he had a breakout year offensively?
Because to even be a 4th-line plug, a guy needs to have NHL-level puck skills. And you gotta score to show that you have it. |

True, but there's Jody Shelley/Gino Odjick "NHL-level puck skills" and then there's Claude Giroux/Peter White "NHL-level puck skills." Similarly, Marty McSorely ca. 1996 could win a race against any guy at a local skating rink.
To the particular player, Raffl is a very agile, fairly fast skater with top-9 talent who plays a strong 2-way game. While he's not exceptionally rare players like him are not a dime a dozen either. |

I think they finish strong.... Either 6-2-1 or 6-1-2.
But I truly believe they will win at least 6 games |

Loss - @ Boston, @st Louis

You gonna fight this battle all day, or do you wanna talk about whether you think the Rasmussen kid, should he even sign, has the potential to make an NHL roster next season?
Because I'd like to hear what you think the Flyers might do for 3RW, 4LW and 4C, should Steve Downie and Adam Hall not be retained and Scott Laughton need some time in the AHL.
Obviously, Raffl is probably gonna be in one of those spots, but it feels like we're gonna need at least two forwards for next season |

Absolutely -- the glance I saw was 16-3-1, with a SVPCT of .925. That's flat-out amazing |

Haha, well that's the case against enforcers... they literally aren't good enough to play in the league. Whereas, lot of so called plugs are pretty freakin skilled. |

I saw that and figured, "Well, hell, it's Boston; of course he has good numbers." But his career stats are solid if unspectacular. |
