Well I did the math. A 60 in Canada is 1.75 liters, an ounce in Canada is 28.4130625 ml, so that would be 61.59 Canadian shots or ounces in the bottle, if we go the Amurican route, 29.5735295625 ml in an ounce, we get 59.174 shots or ounces in that same bottle. So again, not sure where you heard 66 from. a 59, or 61 or 62 would seem more accurate.

None of them work out to the exact zero, Canadian 26 = 26.396, in the Amurican oz = 25.360. It appears they are rounding to the closest whole number between the two for the purposes of making it easier to say, "a 26, a 40, or a 60". Can you provide any links or evidence to this elusive "66" or were you perhaps just on so much poop when you heard this, it was a bit of a hallucination.
