Yeah, I'm not high on him.
- Jeropotato

Not at all.

Picking dmen high is (frank)y.

If you go back to the Sploogapov draft now you'd probably take Trouba as the first Dman. He went at 9. Maybe Reilly who was 5.

Nuge draft? Probably Brodin and he went 10th.

Hall draft? Fowler (10th) Faulk (like 37th)

JT's draft? Yeah Hedman, but it took like 6 years to cement it.

Stamkos? Doughty. Then AP at 4. Almost all the other first round dmen have been okay (bogo) to complete (frank)ing whiffs (Schenn, Teubert). Heck, some of the other non-top 5 best ones include Gardiner and Carlson. Then Erik Karlsson at 17 or whatever.

Ekblad has 60% of his points this year on the PP and 73% of his goals on the PP.

That is a red (frank)ing flag.

especially if Eakins is coaching. The guy'll top out at 10P. The PP is (frank)ing horrific

Do you think a Schultz 2015 1st and 2nd plus Davidson would get close to subban? How much more would we need to add?

We give up a shorty for every 3.15 pp goals scored. For reference, Pittsburgh gives up a shorty for every 10 pp goals scored.

I don't know much about Dmen but if I was picking in the top 5 I don't take a guy who's got iffy offensive numbers.

I'm not even sold on Nurse's offence at the pro level. He passes well but his shot isn't much special. I think he's more Mathias Ohlund than Ed Jovanovski.

The only way Subban moves is if he plays the arbitration game so he can get out of town.

Even then, I'd have to imagine other teams would easily top that offer. You have to think Anaheim, Columbus, Philly, Dallas and Tampa would go balls out.

Subban probably starts with Ebs/Yak. My guess is Ebs, 2014 1st, nurse/marincin/klefbomb and maybe more. He's untouchable anyways, all that crap that he doesn't get along with management etc is all bullpoop i think

True my deal was more so a deal that is one where subban wants out or bergevin doesn't want to pay him, I don't think this deal would get it done if there wasn't a rift between subban and management.

It's no secret bergevin and therein don't like subban the person. It is probably a little too much of a homer deal though

I do think there is some sort of a rift between player and management. Probably stems from his hold out (the entire week of it) and his high-risk high-reward play which is over-blown as (frank).

I get it, he can make turnovers, But dude probably creates 4 scoring chances for every one against. And its not like late in a tight game he's just gonna start lobbing bombs up the middle of the ice.

Hockey is so (frank)ing archaic when it comes to coaching offence I can't even take it. I could write 2000 words on this easy.

at least Hall/Nuge/Ebs showed they can play with the big boys tonight I honestly think with a different 2C next year and a Yak who doesn't suck our top six is fine. Add a Kulemin type guy (two guys like that), One FA Dman and one Dman in trade via Gags + 1st in 2015 and this team should be in the playoffs! Go MacT!

I would think we could offer as much or more as well, teams like Philly would probably overpay with a retarded amount and make us say (frank) it

Yeah, it's an interesting study, for sure.It goes in cycles for sure (a lot of people hated hockey in the mid 70's where tough goonish teams like the Flyers and Bruins were successful) but loved it in the 80's. Seems like the ability to play defense is the common key to winning now days.
There are plenty of people who believe trap style hockey was created to stifle a team like the Oilers. I have a buddy who has hockey in his blood, but hates todays NHL hockey. He talks a lot about this.
One thing that is a for sure is that minor hockey at the earliest levels are practicing systems, where as 20 years ago it was all about creativity and scoring goals. Sad and less entertaining, but that's the way the game has evolved.

No kids learn how to properly (frank)ing shoot anymore. Hardly any kids are developing actual shooting skills. Like how to make adjustments to properly have the puck in front of you. How to lean. How to load. how to move through the puck. None of it.

Coaches teach a slapshot because "boom" and how to swing at garbage pucks for crease crashing goals. Because thats "easy"

Its all positioning. Thats it. From like age (frank)ing 7.

Then you have Sutter at the WJs openly say "We aren't as good as the other countries so we can't play creatively. We need strong structure" That is bullpoop. No other team has the wealth of junior talent that Canada has.

But they take garbage players over offence because imaginary "roles"

Roles are bullpoop. Dress 4 (frank)ing #1 lines if you can and play the entire god damn game in their end. Make them play defence.

Also, the chip and chase hockey is so dead and gone holy (frank). Off the glass is usually the worst play you can make to clear your zone if you have good players on the ice.

Coaches in North America just coach now to avoid losing. They don't try to win anymore. I don't give a (frank) if I embarass a team 7-1. I'm going to win.

The best way to defend is to have the (frank)ing puck. Not just trying to get in the way while the other team plays the entire game with it.

Looks like Khairi and Chase are in OKC. Any idea who this (frank)ing other kid is?

- Jeropotato

Not to overhype the guy, but his numbers, body-type, and play style are VERY similar to those of Tyler Johnson (TB) who's 3rd in rookie scoring and on pace to score more than Gagner has ever scored.
